Shingeki no Kyojin/Attack on Titan (Manga Discussion)

I have kept one as a pet. Nice little guy.

I cared for an ootheca until a bajillion mantis hatched; little guys were antlike, and ate the sibilings that were taking longer to get their exoskeletons up to shape.

Still, a month to go. It has been a fun 7 years since I got into this manga.

I wonder if any of the Founding Titan inheritors ever felt something kinda chewy when eating their predecessor. Just decapitate one of them and take out the velvet worm thingy and Bob's your uncle, apparently.

So, it turns out that in Malaysia, Attack on Titan manga is weirdly censored, with Titans being forced to wear underwear.

Then there was one Titan who was given a speedo, and I think that was one of the most disturbing thing I've ever seen.

I can’t blame them. Stuff like Armor vs Attack or Female vs Attack look like rough Titan sex.

Sadly, my understanding is that the Malaysian print was cancelled before the Rumbling started. No Legion of colossals dooming the planet on their way for a day at the beach

Also we all still agree John Boyega is the chosen one to play Onyankabro should there ever be a western live action adaptation (assuming even further it would get that far in), right?

No. We build a time machine and take the kid who played Coconut Head on Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide. That's who plays Armin.

Well supposing there is no turning back, no one eats anyone else and no ending of the Titan Power, the survivors of the story are:

Mikasa Ackerman, Levi Ackerman, Historia Reiss(unless she dies in childbirth), Armin Arlert (will die in 9 years), Annie Leonhart (will die in 3 years), Reiner Braun (will die in 3 years), Pieck Finger (will die in 3 years) and Falco Grice (will die in 13 years).

Also Onyankapon, Niccolo, Yelena(if she's not executed), Lady Kiyomi and Kaya(as well as Sasha's parents).

Everyone else is dead or a Titan. Anyone important that I'm missing?

So basically only the Ackermans, Historia and some side characters will live a long life as it is right now.

(Although I feel pretty confident that Gabi is coming back somehow whether she eats Reiner, Falco or the Titanization of everyone is undone)

I wonder if it'd be possible to change all the Eldians into Ackerman tier superhumans with Shifter regen thrown in as a substitute to Titanization. Granted that seems to be one of the few limitations of the Founder, making regular Titans not mindless.

With what we know of the Fritz, they'd be fine with mindless titans being a thing I wager.

Crazy interpretation time but is Mikasa going to commit suicide? Her "see you later" to Eren's head is a weird thing to say, unless she's planning to join him in dead soon. This in turn explains why Eren is crying in the first chapter, his future self knows Mikasa is about to die. This also creates a neat parallel with Mikasa crying in this chapter because she knows Eren is going to die soon.

On an unrelated note, I really like the design of Armin's colossus, particularly the skull face as it matches up nicely with his face while he's 'piloting' the titan. It's a shame this is the first chapter where we see it continuous action.

@zsmg Nah because Mikasa’s already been through this back in the Trost Arc and resolved to live even if Eren is dead so she can remember him.

And she’ll see him later no matter when her death takes place.

And consider also that Mikasa’s “see you later”is the last thing Kid! Eren hears before he wakes up and that Eren’s been implying that he has no idea what’s gonna happen at the end after he dies whether it’s another hell or salvation that awaits his friends.

I think the series might leave it open-ended on whether Eren made things worse or better for his friends.

Yeah, even discarded we've already been through what happens when Mikasa thinks she has to live without Eren that's just really... horrible and unfitting? Like, we've been building up to her being without him for a long time now, and the solution being "welp, she just kills herself immediately after" is just, yeah...

Also, anyone think Falco is going to swoop down and eat the parasite?

And well, Reiner, Pieck and Annie don’t seem to be strong enough to take it down, Armin would to have step on them all to kill it(which would mean Gabi, Jean, Connie, Reiner, Pieck and Annie die in one move via Armin) and Falco is currently unoccupied.
