Like I said at the bottom of last page, Genki is the most basic form of energy found in all matter, it's not spirit energy (otherwise you wouldn't be able to use the sun and planet itself to fuel a Genki Dama). It's like vibration energy at the atomic level, or something like that.
Eh, I guess it can be considered a retcon or something. I wonder, is Toriyama is still doing an outline, or is Toyble doing this arc by himself?
Gavan, Let's get jiggy!Sorry for the double post, but the translation is out and make more sense than what people are saying.
Spirit Control is Chi. It honestly feels like fan translators over complicate words, the official translation makes it seem a bit more simple.

Gavan, Let's get jiggy!Gohan, Goten and Trunks aren't full blooded saiyans tho, they think like humans. That's pretty much how Vegeta manages to keep up.
Also, betting Meerus is an angel from one of the gone Universes.

Yeah, a lot of what was in the original post seems like wild conjecture. The chapter itself is a bit different. It only states that teleportation, creating clones, and growing big are all techniques developed through ki control, and that makes a lot more sense than tying them to "Genki". All three are abilities we've seen previously in the series, Goku with teleportation (duh), Tenshinhan with clones (though maybe the Yardrats have a variation that doesn't divide up your strength), and Piccolo with growing giant. Presumably, Vegeta's going to learn something like that.
The thing with Merus is also not as hand-waved away as the initial spoilers implied. Yes, he knows what Ultra Instinct is, but Goku immediately questions how he knows, and Merus has a reason for keeping it a secret. They go into a version of the HTC (instead of 1 day = 1 year, it's 1 day = 3 days), and Merus states that there he'll be able to go all out without anyone "finding out", so it seems he really does have some big secret that we'll learn soon. Maybe Merus is actually an Angel?
Him being an Angel from one of the missing universes would explain a lot. It's the only way he could know about UI. I'm curious as to what technique Vegeta could learn from the Yardrat-ians(sp) as well. It also looks like the entire gang will be called in to fight the convicts (at least we know Piccolo, Krillin, Gohan, and probably Tien and Roshi will get their time. Not sure about Yamcha, 18 and the kids. The plot won't use the former at all, and they keep finding reasons to keep the latter three out.
One Strip! One Strip!Wait, hasn't Merus shown up on the cover of one of the volumes in color? I might be remembering wrong, but isn't his skin blue and his hair white?
Can't remember.
And even if it isn't, who's to say part of his disguise isn't changing his hair and skin colour.
Plus, we know Angels don't die or get erased when the universes do. They just get de-activated. What that means is unclear however, but maybe we'll get a insight into it if Merrus really is an angel.
One Strip! One Strip! My theory about Merus is less "Merus is specifically an Angel from one of the erased universes", and more "Merus is like a child/teenage Angel from their home planet, wherever that is, and he's run away from home because he wants to be a policeman".
We're getting Kung Fu Panda 3 up in this, aren't we?
It's been 3000 years…Is Merus’ name a pun? That would be the real clue, here, since all Angels’ names are alcohol puns.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Well this certainly explains how Meru is competent. Cause every Galactic Patrol Officer we’ve seen isn’t qualified to lead a parade much less be a police officer.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Serum...?
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Merus' name is apparently a pun on a dried squid snack but it could be a fake name.
This song needs more love.Saw Merus' color art. His skin is blue and his hair is a light green not too far off the Angels.
His Ki is also noted as being unreadable.

Merus is a wine, so...
Gavan, Let's get jiggy!Universe 7 is a Crapsack World. Its gods are inept, the Galactic Patrol is inept, for decades its most powerful being was a complete psychopath, and an even more psychotic Eldritch Abomination apparently existed since time immemorial
Yeah I'm going with the theory that Merus in an angel from one of the destroyed universes. Because Angels aren't supposed to interfere with mortals, he disguises himself as a Galactic Patrolman and can't use his true power outside the Hyperbolic Time Chamber because otherwise El Grande Padre might notice and the jig will be up.
Okay I just found these impressive realtistic artwork of DB characters.

Brrrrh that Jiren & Frieza.
Also fair warning website is NSW.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."This does explain goat man's third wish. He needs a communication and exploration network to find suitable planets to eat.
Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireHe wouldn't need them if he just learned how to sense Ki.
...does he not know how to do that? I never realized, though his magic powers might give him a suitable substitute for that ability.
Considering he's had a former Frieza soldier as an associate, he might believe he needs a good network to deal with Frieza. Sure, he can just suck the other dry of power, but if Frieza destroys planets before Moro can get to them, that might starve him of energy since I'm assuming planets have a bigger payout than even the strongest warrior.
One Strip! One Strip!Moro can sense when other people are sensing him, and he can sense the magical signature of Dragon Balls, but he can't sense Ki.
A giant ball of spirit energy, so I'm sure the Spirit Bomb/Genki Dama still falls under that. Genki is spirit energy, Ki is essentially chakara, and Magic is whatever the hell it wants to be. People have been describing the revelation similarly to how Nen works in HXH, though I wouldn't know since I haven't checked that series out.
