Hey, that planet ruled by the Magic Wish Dragon managed to not nuke itself into oblivion.
Unlike a twin planet in an universe that will remain nameless.
I mean, it's interesting that outside of the Red Ribbon, the biggest threat that Dog Ruled Earth has faced have all been from outside of the planet. I'd say he's doing a good job, and if the universe wasn't tailor made to kill the fuck out of anything and everything on earth by merely giving it a dirty look, the planet would be pretty safe.
Edit: Also, I was thinking back to this
bunch of posts about Krillin's importance to the franchise which lead into a discussion about how Toriyama writes his characters.
It's funny to think that the key to the series success might be that even though he slowly pushed the series into action and sic-fi, he still might have been writing it as a comedy.
Suddenly it got me to thinking about how Toriyama uses (or rather, doesn't) use a lot of his female characters and I wondered how that relates to his tendency to still think like a comedy writer.

It was the other way around. As the great sage Mick told us, women weaken legs. Just look at Vegeta and Gohan. They used to be strong, but after they got into serious relationships it's just nonstop jobbing. Ditto Trunks. Both versions have been banished to the jobber bin after meeting Mai. GT Goten, GT Gohan, and GT Geets are in the same boat.
