Senki Zesshou Symphogear

Yay, Genjuro fight scene! It's a shame a lot of it was out of focus, but I'm not complaining given the great Tsubasa fights this time around.

Noble Red are totally coming back in some form, but it was also nice to see them get hit with a little karma.

Elsa and Milaarc literally got reduced to red gloop. Vanessa might still be alive considering she's a cyborg and might be able to survive decapitation

Next stop: Noble Undead; Noise are so old hat.

I mean, reducing herself to red gloop is literally Millaarc's main superpower.

Ep 10:

When Shem-ha killed Noble Red, she inserted some of her power into them and made them into full monsters now. Whelp, so much for being Worffed now. The Konitors in the underside of Yggdrasil even give us a glimpse of Shem-has original self, too

Also, Shem-ha has only 1/10000 of a percent of her original power at this point, and yet she wasn't even phased by a symphogears attacks whatsoever. Yep, she easily could have murked the previous antagonists even at that level of power, and that is some ol' bullshit scaling right there. But then again, this is the final season, so I say go all out for the finale of the series.

Well, at this level of power I'd say that Carol or Adam COULD really do something to her. Once again remember that most of the antagonists took some form of super mode to bring down; "not being hurt" by JUST Maria in her base form is kind of minor compared to that.

More importantly, it finally happened. After nearly five seasons of obsessing about the moon, they're finally on it.

Shirabe got her wish!

Also yay for another Unison, they faked us out there as the start of that fight, but came though in the end.

So... is Vanessa still a cyborg at this point? Or is she just a straight up mechanical golem with a woman's form after her "upgrade" that removed her human parts completely from the equation?

A little bit confused regarding that one...

Probably the latter, similar to Elza being a full werewolf and Milaarce being a full vampire now.

Something I noticed: Fudou was a pretty classic Symphogear big bad—A cackling lunatic with big goals and a miniboss that has no particular loyalty to him. Shem-Ha is not that! She's quiet, collected, and has something like a good relationship with her minions. Also notable is that she started as a freaky monster before taking a human form. This tendency towards inverting the series' tropes feels intentional but I'm not sure what it indicates

On the other hand, the line where she's says that she is at less then 1/10000 of a percent of her original powers gives an indication she will be gaining a true form in a similar manner to previous antagonists, at this point.

I think we actually saw her true form in this episode though? The screen in the lab had a lady I didn't recognize on them

I don't see much of a reason to expect a super monstrous form, given that the series started with her mummified body being completely human.

Though if she goes the Carol or Fine route, some sort of mecha construct is an option.

What if she merges with the MOON in order to become some weird, eldritch abomination, that the crew have to subdue rather than destroy in order to win?

This is the "GOD" of this setting after all...

If that happens, I guess they'd be breaking the moon.

ep 11:

Enki is literally a Wild ARMs Protagonist, down to the blue hair. And all hell breaks loose on earth.

The return of a duet from G. I was just waiting for the "Ignition" part, though.

I give it an odds-on chance Chris is going to reflect a laser aimed at the moon again.

Enki really didn't think of the possibility that the girl that loved him, Fine, would go batshit insane because of what he did to prevent Humanity from being turned into slaves by Shem-Ha, huh.

I think this is what happens when you fail to explain your plan until some six thousand years down the line after the person in question is dead.

Also Millaarc decided to get in another super robot reference. This time, we're going for Getter Robo. OPEN GET.

And Shem-Ha, no licking Miku. That's Hibiki's job.

The Custodians are pretty much the Protoculture from Macross now, too. Shem-Ha basically one of them gone rogue.

Though with the amount of mecha references is anyone remotely surprised?

The Wild Arms references are through the roof too, and Enki looking like a Protag from that series is the biggest one to date. His sword arm is actually Gungnir.

Gungnir's made from Yggdrassil, that was shown in AXZ.

All we need now is some Sakura Wars reference in this series somewhere. Unless it already happened.

Also, fun fact, Shem-ha's original form is the same voice actress as Kikyou. Now I see where the craziness comes from.
