Just watched episode 3. This show just shamelessly revels in its own campiness. I love it. Was actually surprised that Arashi didn't end up joining Team Supreme, though — that was a definite bait and switch, but if it means we get more amusing characters to be his teammates, then that's even better. In hindsight, you can see during the ED that he's got a team badge on his hat that's not Team Supreme's, so maybe if I'd been paying more attention maybe I would have seen that coming. On an unrelated note, how about those Death Metal Elite Four? I'm sure that won't be coming up again. Plus the stinger with the obvious Rival character. Should we take bets over whether he's going to be one of the Elite Four or not? My guess is no, but we'll see how that turns out.

He totally is. He shows up in today's ep (episode 4) and he's your typical total asshole who looks down on everyone type rival.

Man, Arashi is an idiot.

And Drake seems like he's the only legitimately evil character in Death Metal (what with the Emperor caring more about...eating Watermelons than letting the former explain he was fighting the Wild Liger and all).

Edit: Also ep 5 doesn't seem to be up. Is there no episode this week due to holidays or something?

Ep 4 was good! They're walking the line between making it silly and making it dumb really well. Also, props to the subber — Team Rap's dialogue was probably a nightmare to translate.

One thing I'm concerned about is that there doesn't seem to be much variety to the combat. Drake's Gilraptor throwing Team Rap's zoids at Wild Liger was fun, but I feel like it'd be more interesting if they had additional weapons between "claws/teeth" and "Wild Blast". Some ranged options would be nice, too. As it is, I don't think they'll be able to keep things fresh for a whole season.

Actually, do we know how long it's planned for? I sort of assume it's two cours (~26 episodes) like the most other Zoids anime, but I don't really know.

Also, I am seeing the ep 5 raw up, maybe it just took the usual suspects a bit longer than normal to get to it.

Episode 6:

We got another Wild Burst, which I guess was going to be a thing, but still unexpected. Also, I suppose we can suspect that Kuroame is Arashi's pop in disguise. Sure, the only proof is that they use the same Zoid, but fan theories have been built on far less.

They stopped subbing after episode 7, and I have no clue what's been happening.

Then again, maybe it didn't last long for old school purists of the series.

Yeah, I'm bummed that it stopped getting subs. It was dumb as hell, but the best kind of fun, hilarious dumb. But I'm not quite hardcore enough to watch raws.

I can't even find raws to be honest.

Assuming you're not streaming you can get raws from the same cat you get subs from.

Yeah, raws are pretty easy to find, but nothing's been subbed after episode 7.

Huh, 50 episodes already? I didn't think it'd been that long. Pity I haven't heard anything about a localization, the first few episodes that got subs were pretty good.

...Beast Liger is kinda monotonous isn't it?

Anyway, I can't comment on Zoids Wild, because there are no fucking subs past episode 7 (and that was a gag Pirate sub).

Zoids Wild Anime Gets 2nd Season in October

Wow. This one is very different from Wild (which still only has seven subbed eps up).

It feels like another return to form with the old Republic vs Empire situation and a female character with a mysterious power like Fine / Fiona, While the title makes me think of New Century (which has also been called Zero).

Hopefully it does better in the home country than the last series called Zero too.

But I noticed people are riding on top of the Zoids anymore. I couldn't tell if they were inside them either though. Guess we'll have to wait and see how that plays out.

There's been no talk about it, and I haven't seen anything about subs of episodes anywhere, but I just found a AMV about it.

Zoids Wild ZERO started airing back in October 4, 2019. I did find that gogoanimeplay has episodes with English Subs, but when I tried to get the video to play it wouldn't.
