Chulainn, as in, Cu Chulainn the great hero, or Culainn the Smith?

I'm guessing the first, since Cu Chulainn was known for throwing things pretty hard; perfect example, throwing a ball clean through a dog.

Don't doubt the Celtic mythology geek. [lol]

I have a lot of experience building campaign settings-indeed, much more experience building settings than actually G Ming

But I don't have the patience to read through 21 pages ~'_'~

Alas and alack~

[up][up][up][up][up]Err, shouldn't the staff be named after *someone evil?*

[up]Most people don't, which is why we have an official page for the campaign [1] for ease of access to all data. smile

And what does 'alack' mean?

Tomu, because you're talented and not an idiot, you should be fine as long as you read the relevant links on the trope page.

The Locked Temple

In a very Known Land in a peaceful nation, their is a mysterious building, generally regarded as being very temple-like. It has a big obvious door with an obvious lock mechanism, this much anyone can discern, but so far all attempt to pick the lock of mithril have failed, to breach the wall of adamant have halted, no one has blood welly been able to get inside the place. The outside of the walls are covered in mithril inscriptions that seems to act as both a message as well as the circuitry of the lock's mechanism. It describes a key, a giant staff-like thing made of orihalcum through and through, that up until now no one has been able to find. It was described has being hidden upon the Spine of the World.

It's very likely their is something awesome inside that Temple and everyone wants it, so their are two involved mad dashes, one to find the key and one to control the temple until they can get it.

I just want to get this suggestion in:

The Moon and Moonkin -

The moon that circles the world is an odd one, around the center of it spins a ring of aether. Which built up as it circles over the world or more importantly nodes, turning the center ring of the moon into a powerful node in of itself.

The ring is orange and cloudy, so what lies neath it is hard to see but below it is a world in of itself. Below this ring is habitable terrain filled with massive magical crystals, lakes and forests which are filled with many creatures that no person on the surface has ever seen. All these creatures and plants seemed to be sprung from the rawness of the aether, an after effect of gravity and aether merging and opposing each other perhaps no one really knows.

The only creation that was not created by the raw-ness of the Aether is the Moonkin. Who were created by the gods of the moon as their pet race. They excelled but they were imperfect in their creators eyes. Despite being created by the gods, the constant barrage of aether made it hard for them to worship them. As it seemed even their so called creators were powerless to stop the raging Aether ring that they inhabited from constantly changing their enviroment.

The moonkin began to worship at their temples less and less, many chose to either study their world and how it works or fell into despair and calling for the end. Many of their creators grew tired of their creations arrogance and nihilism and abandoned them all together, even their faithful followers. Though a few gods still watch over their pet race.

Mysticism and wizardry are near unheard of on the moon, though some moonkin have theorized it as a plausibility none of actual tried it. Moonkin instead rely heavily on the crystals that their ring is covering in as well as their studies of how rotation effects the aether to create artificer like devices. these devices unitized the aether infused within these crystals as well as rotation to create quasi-magical effects such as levitation, thrust and even even the ability to move and manipulate other objects.

Moonkin have landed on the surface before but never been able to return due to the crystal they used to reach the surface only existing on the moon.

Moonkin number around 500,000 and inhabit cities scattered across the ring. Their cities are made out of crystal and stone and often have moss growing around them. They are immune to all forms of magic due to constant exposure to the aether, they all stand around 6'3" and weight a little over 100 pounds, they have an exotic but beautiful humanoid appearance and they are almost identical to each other when it comes to physical features. They have almond shaped eyes which are pure black, and they have high cheekbones. They lack ears and have small noses, they also lack hair but do have different colored tendrils which hang down behind their head, that and their different facial markings colors is one of the only ways to tell them apart.

Their cultural perception rarely differs from person to person due to the fact that they have never known ideas outside of their own and those who don't step in line with the rest quickly find themselves forced outside of the cities or even the ring of itself which is a death sentence as Moonkin can only survive a few days outside of their warm, moist oxygen rich atmosphere. Though some secret societies exist which help others express and any view points outside of the popular view points.

But now with the surface losing it's magic, the ring that supports life on the moon is likewise loosing it's magic and the moonkin are now desperate to make their new home within the lands of their neighboring planet, even though they may not be all that welcome and may even be viewed as aliens by many cultural, plus their own arrogance may not help in the matter. *

Hmmm...

All my ideas are too sweeping to really work in a collaborative setting, huh...

It's fine, I would hope some element of it might be able to work into the setting. If not the moon or moonkin than the devices at use rotation to effect the aether :3

[up]I do like many of those ideas, but together it might be too much for the setting (for now.)

Moonkin seem fine, but the death sentence of leaving the moon doesn't really do much to make them part of the setting.

Dark wizard? How mainstream.

How about Patriarch?

I mostly mention it because the visual you provided is similar to a character in my shared campaign setting ("Staff of Eternal Power"). Originally named "Warlock" got renamed "Toshiue" (elder) and then I just renamed him Patriarch.

'course, I could have called him 'Pope...'

Emperor Hrod likes how he can attend meetings of world leaders and be the only one who is naked.

[up][up]It's more a description than a real name, since (as I keep pointing out) I suck at coming up with names. Which is why we are working as a group, to cover each other's shortcomings.

[up]LOL.

I've never been good with names either. I tend to do one of three things:

1.) Use titles as names. See: Deus, Patriarch, Paragon, etc.

2.) Use Japanese or other foreign languages that are, frankly, the same as 1. See: Toshiue

3.) Throw syllables against the wall. See: S`Raxxle, Rashall, Rallaster, Vasyia.

[up][up]It's because he's a skeleton, so nobody notices. But then, two other rival nations had a thinly veiled argument where the sarcastically said, 'And you know what I like?' Followed by something disparaging about the other country. The Emperor broke the argument with his famous quote, "And you know what I like? That I'm the only one who gets to be naked at these meetings."

Ever since then, he's had to wear clothing.

Nice bit of comic relief. I laughed, I admit.

Tomu: Pretty much my approach, except replace the language in number two with Irish. Why? Because Irish is awesome.

So, how about, a group of wizards that use miniature universes to create effects in the real universal. Fractomancers!
