It's been brought up before. This is not really a good thing. Descriptions should best start with the definition of the trope, even with Self Demonstrating Articles.* Anything else just gets in the way of this site's main mission, which is of course cataloging and defining tropes.

Now having examples in the middle of the descriptions is fine. Boss in Mook Clothing was changed to that. Therefore I propose that we change the page Example as a Thesis into Hypothetical Example, move the opening line to the middle to fit the new form, and to the same for all such pages.

* Describe Topic Here lines aren't actually part of the description (by their nature, they indicate the description is coming next), and are usually short, so they don't fall under this discussion. That and Eddie has even approved a couple being used in place of entire self demonstrating articles.

Unce upon a time Example as a Thesis was also self-demonstrating.

I don't understand...what's wrong with the Example as a Thesis page as-written?

Rhymes with "Protracted."

Emphasis and potholing mine:

Internet articles in general have the special job of answering the question "Is this going to make any sense?" right away. The question is forefront in the reader's mind because there is so much on the internet that isn't going to make sense, and the reader has been burnt too many times. He gives up almost immediately.
