Are the Jade dragons based on D&D?
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly.No. Jade dragons don't exist in D&D (at least not in 3.0/3.5). The chromatic/metallic/gem dragon thing was D&D-influenced but the exact types aren't a direct homage.
Oh, okay. The psichic powers made me assume that it was a gem one huh.
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly.Jade is a gem, but all the green-group dragons (green, copper, jade, malachite, and emerald) in Elcenia have psychic powers. Other gem dragons from other groups have different powers. (You might want to read the entries on dragons and dragon magic in the setting pages.)
Any reason why those specific colors/specific-powers?
EDIT: Also, would have anything against Unique Red dragons having especial fire-control powers? Like the ability to "bend" their breaths or make "seeker" fireballs, or maybe having a secondary breath weapon with a another element?

"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly.I probably had a reason to assign the color groups to their respective powers back when, but Elcenia has been in development since I was in high school and many causal details about its contents are lost to memory.
I am not soliciting suggestions for how the worldbuilding of Elcenia should work. Unique red groups have extra fire-related powers relative to unusuals, who have extras relative to standard red-groups, who have extras relative to non-red-groups. They do not have extra powers relating to non-fire elements.
Sorry for taking so long to answer (I opened the link and then tumblr happened), well, the travelling starts and new color appears in the setting, I almost laughed at the idea of a square world, it must be something somehow shocked compared with everythinge else. Wolfriders appear to be interesting too.
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly. The excuse that he never took astronomy and therefore can't answer anything about cosmology at all seems weak. In our terms not everyone can explain how the seasons come about, but you certainly don't need an astronomy class to know about the concept of gravity or that the Earth is a revolving sphere that orbits the sun. He is a flying dragon who traveled all over the world, at the very least he should know what happens when you try to fly over the edge.
Never underestimate the power of "I just never thought about it".
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly. He does know what happens when you fly over the edge. She didn't ask about that.
Well, I was expecting the kiss. Samia being alive, not so much.
All Cretans are liars.—Epimenides the CretanI love the smell of drama.
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly.Drammmmmmmma. Im excited. I liked how Rhysel was feeling when she was left all alone after he left. And how she was patiant and stayed and waited. Not many people would do that. She was very reasonable. And totally justified in her annoyance.
Why did the kiss cause awareness of Samia being alive by a third party? (It would be a very contrived coincidence if there were no connection, so I hope there is.) Presumably she was kept around in suspended animation for these 10 years despite as far as everyone knew there being no hope for a recovery? And the mind link was still active in one direction, Narax -> Samia, so emotions from the kiss/ in reaction to the kiss stirred her awake, or at least into a more mentally active sort of coma, which whoever takes care of her comatose body noticed? But why is the mind link only one way now (otherwise Narax should have noticed first?)?
An explanation will be forthcoming. I am pleased that I have generated so much speculation :)
Why she so awesome? Making a tower out of nothing. Sweet.
She didn't make a tower out of nothing! There was stone involved. Lots of it.
...and damn god of bad-timing. What is happening with Keo, maybe the entire thing about samia was a farse? or a trap to deprive dragons of a powerfull unique.
EDIT: or maybe is exactly what we are seeing, I don't know xP

"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly. My impression was that Keo was in a trance-type thing to fix Samia, from which I expect she'll awaken directly. I feel bad for Kanaat—and that gives us a tiny clue about how shockingly destroyed he must have been after Samia died. If Kanaat gets all sad and droopy when Keo is just briefly gone, it's hard to think how much more drastically Narax would have been affected.
All Cretans are liars.—Epimenides the CretanOh, I sort of read it as Keo taking too long to wake up >.<
"Here to welcome our new golden-eyed overlords," said Addy promptly.Yes, exactly :D
