One attacks vampires, one attacks Izaya. Aside from that, I see what you mean, although I didn't notice the similarity until you pointed it out.
Does anyone know if the second episode is up yet?
It will be up 1 week after the first one, so you should be able to figure that out for yourself.
Well I expected it to be up yesterday since the first episode came out last Saturday. I just asked because I still haven't seen at least a raw of episode 2 anywhere yet.
Didn't this get mentioned earlier? The airing on the first was early. The regular premiere was on the 7th. So episode 2 will be out on the 14th
Ohhh, thanks for clearing that up.
That track used at the start sounds remarkably like Terror adhaerens
That thing is a dog? Looks more like a cat
Saya doesn't have the second-to-last seat on the far left. How strange
Definitely straying away from the usual Blood designs with that plant-monster thing
Okay, I'm no expert on Blood Plus or the Blood franchise as a whole, but I'm pretty sure this doesn't have jack shit to do with vampires.

They are vampires of a different sort. They ae known in Blood Plus as Chiropterans.

Watch SymphogearWell after watching the second episode I am getting very suspicious about the village and the fact that there seems to be nobody there except Saya and her class. It almost seems like The Truman Show with everything created just for Saya.
Also I still think that the "puppy" is probably a fox spirit.
But we haven't seen any chiropterans, have we? Despite them being fairly prominent in the OP, they are nowhere to be found.

And I liked this episode, and its fight. Damn, that was bloody.
I love it more ALREADY!

Watch SymphogearEh, I don't find the five minutes of awesome fighting worth wading through the cliché-laden school scenes surrounding it. Even if a twist is coming in due course, that doesn't make those lifeless characters any less painful to watch.
I don't think I'll be bothering with any more of this series. It's just not working for me.
Yeah, I've got Mawaru Penguindrum anyway.

- The moon.
- A 40-metre tall crystal spider which lives in the Amazon.
- A dimension-hopping wizard who once beat the moon in a fight.
- An alchemist with a fondness for spinning.
If I can accept those as vampires, then giant plants and rock lobsters are no trouble at all.

At least the Nasuverse vampires drink blood
Maybe they'll show up in future episodes? And hey, if vampires can sparkle...
But I'm getting kind of tired of this. It really does have potential, but if I don't see anything happening with that potential soon I'm dropping it. The fights seem good, but it's such a pain to sit through the boring school parts to get there...
And whatever Saya uses to keep her glasses on when she falls from a cliff hanging onto a tree and they don't even crack, I want some of it.

Of course we lied about the cookies. We're the DARK SIDE, remember?Superglue.
I can't help but think the story's a lot more sinister than on the surface. The 'treat' Saya got from the restaurant owner...Those pink cubes with a 'special texture'- my mind immediately jumped to 'blood'. Same for her father's story- He's not telling the whole truth, as he seems entirely human, but Saya's glowing-red eyes hint that she isn't. Maybe he *wants* her to think that she's battling supernatural threats...While they're actually Chiropterans?
Remember, this is CLAMP. When things get dark and disturbing, they get dark and disturbing in a big way.

My theory is that the red eyes are caused by Saya being possessed by the sword, which is what gives her the borderline-inhuman durability and strength to take down...whatever the monsters are called. Elder Bairns. Point: Her father mentions something about "perhaps you gripped it too tightly" in the first episode. Perhaps the hand-jitters are a side-effect of extended sword use? This probably also has something to do with what happened to her mother, too.
I'm surely not the only one to notice this, but Saya's personality and character design remind me a hell of a lot of Anri.
