Something something DANJAH ISLAND.

The first two episodes of Danger Island aired way back at NYCC.

They were hilarious.

Watched the series premiere.

It was... okay? I mean, Archer's always pretty good, but the episode spent too much time establishing the new setting and not enough time on the plot or humor.

Which was the same issue with season 7 and 8's premieres, so I guess it's just the curse of the first.

Krieger is amazing as a parrot though.

Island is called Minimotu, which is somewhere in French Polynesia. It seems that the jungle doesn't cover the entire island, because they were able to build the hotel just fine. Also, the year is 1939. Seems like we're getting eight episodes.

Crackers is a robot controlled by Krieger elsewhere.

I can. Alvin and the Chipmunks got renamed to Chipmunks go to the Movies in one season, and each episode was the cast recast as characters in films like Batman, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Big or Star Trek.

To rob is to take money or property unlawfully from a person or public place in the open by force or threat of force. Robbery is not secret but is done openly and with violence.

To burgle is to enter or break into a person's house illegally with the intent to commit a crime, especially theft. This is accomplished when the occupants of the house are not at home or are away from the house.

French Polynesia is still a French Overseas collectivity, which means it's still technically part of France, though they do elect their own president.

Best joke of the episode was the Catch-22 bit.

What was the conflict that Archer and Barry were involved in? Because I don't think it was World War I.

Ah, shit, I forgot to catch last night's episode.

When is it airing again? Before next Wednesday, I hope?

Okay, I looked into it. Pretty sure the dogfights that Archer and Barry partook in were part of the Bombing of Guernica which was part of the Spanish Civil war. This guy, Francisco Franco, led a coup to take over Spain and allied with the Germans. In 1937, Franco called in the German Air Force to bomb civilian dissidents. Franco eventually won the war, and ruled until his death in 1975.

IIRC there's a big mural of that done by... some famous painter who's name I should know but which has completely slipped my mind.

Did anyone expect o see Noah Again? You know, the guy they ran into on that pirate Island way back in Season 3?

I expected to see him in this episode.

Man how much does archer hate Cyril?

First coma dream he’s a crooked cop, now he’s a Nazi ?

I know Archer's hatred of Cyril being super petty is part of the joke, but I do think they kind ran it into the ground a long time ago.

I also kind of don't like it, it was kind of funny that Cyril's a nasty person not because he's evil but because he's really capable of acts of spite, but making him an outright villain makes him a lot less entertaining.

I'm actually liking Cyril as a villain, especially in this episode.

I also liked Archer describing what the invading Germans will be like, and how there will probably be a "boss" at the end of the waves. The fact that he was right makes it even better, and I'm looking forward to the Fuchs boss battle next week.

Next week is the finale. What are the odds it'll end with Archer waking up from the coma? Because next season is going to be the last one.

Probably pretty high. I'd imagine they'd want season 10 to be set in Archer's real world again.

Regarding this episode's finale, I wonder if Fuchs' mech suit is at all the result of Archer still subconsciously pining for that power loader in the season 3 finale. Just now he's fighting against it instead of in it like he wanted.
