I mean, you can have both funny yuri ship baiting, and give her a plot to do stuff in. But ya know.
Eh to be fair its not like Law, Paul, Lee, JACK, Bryan, Michelle, Julia, and Hwoarang haven't been spinning their narrative wheels for a while now.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).After seeing some T8 gameplay. I can glad that they are testing their builds before shipping the game. They really needs some polish in network and balance seeing some hilarious gameplays (Kazuya's 70 dmg field strings, Kings unavoidable 50-50, unavoidable counter grabs etc...)

"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."...who's gonna tell them?
The sad, REAL American dichotomyYes, I'm aware there's a Tekken anime. Several in fact. I know nothing much about them, however, so I dunno if they fit that particular trope or if they do something different. (And to be honest it's quite likely I'm missing something else, I did admit at the start I'm not as big a fan :V)

"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."Weird how the japanese fighting game with bears and alien ninjas since the very beginning is not anime enough.
Uni catDeleted the post because I threw it together on a whim and, on reflection, it came off as far more critical when I only intended to compare and contrast Tekken and Street Fighter without suggesting one was better than the other. It probably could have done with more polish, for sure.
Not really sure where that statement came from, though, nobody was arguing Tekken isn't anime. I'd argue it's very anime. :V
Going back a bit, though, since the series' treatment of Asuka and the reaction of this thread towards was what prompted me to think about this in the first place. Is this negative reaction towards the focus on the Asuka/Lili rivalry and the demand for her to be more plot-relevant a widely-held sentiment? Is it a region-specific thing? Like it turns out that the Western audience want her to be more central to the plot while the Japanese audience is perfectly fine with her comic relief angle, or something like that.
"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."That freaking anime sword guy from Final Fantasy is in Tekken.
Dude has Sasuke Uchiha hair and everything. Dude uses swords in a martial arts competition. To be fair a competition that lets people fight fully grown grizzly bears, but still.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Then there's whatever Gigas is
Help me. I can't get it out of my head.It didn't seem that critical to me, tbh
The sad, REAL American dichotomyIt is kind of sad that Ogre went from a being believed by us fans as having killed every fighter that didn't appear in Tekken 3 either as playable characters or in cutscenes/endings to the guy with only one confirmed kill to his name. The one person Ogre killed is King.
"May your heart be your guiding key"I was only aware he'd "killed" Jun, Armor King, and injured Baek.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Ogre didn't kill Armour King I, Marduck did.
"May your heart be your guiding key"Oh yeah. Well then I only remember 2 people he supposedly killed then.
EDIT: According to the wiki King 1, Jun, and Baek were his victims. The only one that died was King 1.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).He was also meant to have killed Anna and Wang. Every move he copied is taken from a victim of his.
Meaning everyone that didn't make it to 3 except Kazuya was killed by Ogre.
Uni catYeah the Wiki mentioned that, but also mentioned it doesn't make sense for Ogre to have those movelists since those fighters weren't confirmed injured or dead.
AFAIK Anna and Wang's storyline doesn't mention encountering Ogre at all.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).I mean its not impossible for him to just copy the moves he saw them perform without killing them.
Fair.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).The Crazy lore of Tekken in one video... 'warning its long
People been datamining Tekken 8. 6 new character popped in the files
SPOILERS:Yoshimitsu, Raven, Steve, Zafina, Shaheen, Alisa
Also some datamined dialogue by xiaoyu confirms Panda. So bears are definitely back
Uni catRaven? Called it. :V
"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."Aaaand another one bites the dust as apparently the full roster might have leaked
Tomorrow we are getting 2 character reveals btw
Uni catCan someone spell out to me who all those blurry images are besides the new characters? I recognize a few of them but some just look like nothing (and I'd rather not have to sift through the salty Reddit whining comments to find an identity post which will probably get contradicted anyway :V)
"If you think like a child, you will do a child's work."
I haven't seen that T7 ending in a while. Lili's basically just Asuka's stalker crushing on her and taking ridiculous means to be close to her. And that line that suggests she's trying to save Asuka from getting involved in the Mishima mess is basically the devs saying "yeah, forget that, she'll be spending her time with Lili now."
