Double post but does the order in which you visit places when there are multiple options matter? I just finished the second fight with Moznu and I'm wondering if visiting places in certain orders influences the plot.

Nope. It influences what order you see some scenes since there's kind of a linear path between them but eventually you have to see all the scenes before you can continue.

How do I get my slower party members to level up as fast as my faster party members? I've had to practically bench Kuon and Atuy because they just keep slaughtering everything before the others are close enough to get a potshot in. I've tried just having the fast ones hang back for the slow spell casters but that's just a slow pain in the ass so I'm hoping there's an alternative.

I bench Rulutieh and Ougi, though I guess only one of those is actually slow. Kiwru and Atuy tend to be my MVPs. Jachdwalt is too slow, Nosuri is too squishy and Haku too generally weak, though all of them are okay sometimes. If nothing else Haku can grant people Zeal. The twins make a good bombardment tool thanks to their great range, Nekone is solid thanks to being able to heal and attack in the same turn and Kuon is really good at building up her Zeal and does okay damage at decent range.

I don't think the level differences ever amount to much unless you flat out don't bring someone with you. As long as they come to the battle they get the completion bonus.

I finished the game, now to pre-order the sequel coming out in 2 weeks or so.

So many things that went wrong could have been avoided if they just looted Vurai's mask before they left.

Everything would have been fine anyway if not for Nekone. I actually appreciate that it's 100% her fault that Oshtor died. None of this crappy blaming yourself for something that wasn't really your fault, which always gets on my nerves. No, he'd have come back safe and sound if not for her.

I guess we'll see how badly her screwup affects things in two weeks.

EDIT: What exactly is the difference between using action chains for all characters and using final strikes for all characters? I've got the final strikes achievement but not the action chain one for some reason.

No clue.

So playing Uta 3 now. I feel kind of bad for Rulutieh. Not only is she most boring girl, but now what little use she had has just been taken away by the new unit I got. I guess for now I'll be waiting for Haku to either figure out Kuon knows who he is or to tell her himself. It's good to see her happy again but this state of limbo can't last forever.

Rulu's regenerating tank role comes in handy later, especially once she gets her Ao E heal.

Speaking of characters and usefulness, Mikazuchi is pure bullshit only held back by not having any equip slots and being temporary.

Yeah after playing with her a little more I can see how she differentiates herself from Munechika but still, I just don't ever use her.

Mikazuchi is available in post game. He's still super broken.

Have you done the final fight yet? You'll see someone even more broken there. But that's totally intentional and obviously intended to be as overpowered as possible.

Yes I've finished the game.

Personally I liked the plot, even if the three minions successfully tracking down the group who went to who knows where, stealing the master key, escaping and then running back to the bunker under the capital to die near Woshis was stupid. I'm not entirely clear on why Haku left the group right after rescuing Kuon either.

Woshis was just really disappointing in general. I'd been expecting a lot of him but he just turned out to be a sulky manchild. As for why Haku left, who knows? I'm not sure she physically got back together with him when they spoke again. Maybe he can't stay physical for very long anymore.

Also, after the civil war ended I felt the game just fell apart in regards to pacing.

There may be more Utawarerumono games coming judging by that final dream arena map.

[up] I agree with the pacing complaint, it went from things alternating between seriousness and silly downtime to just being serious all the time and happening too fast.

I haven't completed the dream arena yet, but I suppose that's good to hear. Maybe. I'm only on the map where you need to escape through the Tataris. Is there an actual time limit on that map?

Well, just rushed it anyway. Without Haku's transformation on his second attack I'd have had to restart. Especially if I hadn't manipulated Kuon's placement to get overzeal so I could do it twice. I guess that's what I get for only pumping up everyone's attack. Munechika was the only other one left alive at the end and she'd have died the next attack.

Ah, I see, you need to leave the porn for Munechika to run into.

Well, this final map is going to be a bitch. I don't use Fumirul or Kiwru at all and while I do use Munechika, there's no way she can take Benawi.

so is there a page here for the 3rd game? Don't know if it should be combined with the page of the 2nd game cause would be hard to avoid spoilers for the description.

Also did seem like Jachdwalt was being a hypocrite in the 3rd game?

No, there's no page for the third game yet. I'll make one after I play through it again if no one has by that point.

Do not add tropes for the third game to the page for the second.

The final Dream Arena battle is brutal, I recommend sticking Survival on everyone you can because your guys are going to get oneshotted left right and center.

Between the serious moments in this level and the one before that between Kuon and Haku (or earlier with Ukon and Maroro) I have to wonder how canon it's supposed to be because the Dream Arena gets so very silly at times.

How many stages does it have anyway? Does it really end when you beat the Av Kamiw or whatever? Cause I probably could have done that much with a little effort but I assumed I'd probably end up having to beat all the Tuskur guys after that and I didn't feel like most of my party could handle that. Just saving Nosuri the one attempt took a significant amount of time and she's basically immune to ranged attackers for a little while.

For that stage, you've got to beat up Kuon, the Avu Kammu (or however it's spelt) and Divine Scion Kuon (colourswap), the others are unnecessary unless you want support for those three fights.

And that's the second last stage, the final serious stage is vs Raiko, Vurai, Oshtor, Mikazuchi and Woshis all in kaiju mode because of Mito's problems with the first time the akurukas got used, after that there's one last silly stage with dev messages.

EDIT: Oshtor is an asshole to fight, I find myself sympathising with Vurai's annoyance at his cheap tactics and counters, I can kill the other three just fine but Oshtor hiding behind Woshis and water obstacles + counter spam + constant confusion just shuts me down and I can't even kill him first because getting the fighters to him leaves me open to getting hit from behind by Vurai.

EDIT 2: Worked out how to take him down without getting screwed by his effect, just gotta go through the area where Raiko is, make sure to put all of your jump 3 guys on the right side of the arena so they can link up with your other group after bumping off Raiko without Vurai or Mikazuchi or Woshis getting a chance to intercept.

EDIT 3: Forgot to post but while looking up guide stumbled across a pic that seems relevant for the ending, looks like Kuon tracked him down the same day.

Just going to cheese that last fight with NG+ characters and worry about doing it properly later, I think. If that'll even help given that I'm still only beefing up attack and totally ignoring defense and speed.

I'll be making a page for the game under Utawarerumono: Mask of Truth the day after tomorrow, I think. I have work today and tomorrow but I should be free to make it then. That's the official English title, so that's what I'm going with.

If he ended up losing that duel, i get this felling Shino would have a huge breakdown. also the breakdown would end being worst if no one stopped Jammachiry from taking her. imaged her felling betrayed by all those she trusts and being handed over to someone she is terrified of.

I don't think she would last long with Jammachiry. i get the felling she could had ended up committing suicide or end up dying due to the stress. When she was playing with Kiuru, Jammachiry came up to kiuru, it was show she was very scared of Jammachiry.

As for Yakutowaruto he call Jammachiry a murderer for inciting Mukar to commit suicide, but ends up risking the same thing to happen to Shino. also at end he says he would not give her to just any half-hearted man, but ended up risking this as well.

Also about the gray on Jammachiry's right side of his face could it be paint or something hideous?

He was probably counting on the group there to veto any plans like that in the unlikely event that he lost.

And the green is probably a bad scar.

I don't see how that would make him a hypocrite. His position was 'I want to keep Shinonon safe and happy.' To do that he needed to defeat his enemy as well as somehow deal with all the other fighting factions back home. Yeah it'd suck if he died but it's not like he had any better options.

The suicide/death thing was just a theory i was bringing up.(for worst case scenario)
