It's WAMU 88.5fm's Sunday program of old time radio dramas and comedies like Gunsmoke, Johnny Dollar, and Dragnet.

I wondered if there could a thread about these old time shows.

Like right now, they are playing the hilarious baseball hijinks of Abbott and Costello.

I wish one of my local stations played stuff from the past. I'd love to have to used my imagination like in the old days.

Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the Great

If it wasn't for the fact I'd just lost my show, I'd recommend my own show on WCDE for some good old time radio. A show a semester; randoms from my collection, Dragnet, Gangbusters, and Fort Laramie. 'course they shut us down rather then actually look for our allegedly missing paperwork.

Hey! A fellow virginian who Enjoys the Big Broadcast with ED Walker! Out of curiosity, what's your favorite program they play? For me its a toss up between Johnny Dollar and Suspense

I love Suspense and Johnny Dollar, Gunsmoke is one of my top faves. Tough My Tops would be Jack Benny and The Phil Harris and Alice Faye shows.

One thing my brother and I joke about is how many kids Johnny Dollar must have tricked into the life of an Insurance investigator hoping for a life of excitement and adventure.

Ohhhh Rochester! If I'd gotten to it, Jack Benny probably would've been my favorite, but Dragnet takes that spot. The sound effect work is excellent.

God I love Jack Benny, and Gunsmoke for that matter which I think I've mentioned before. But! I never knew anyone else had ever willingly listened to Johnny Dollar. The whole premise of an insurance investigator puts a lot of people off I imagine.
