There are two hub worlds where anthro NP Cs would have been possible in SA 1, but both can be excused- we see maybe two dozen residents of Station Square, an it's an entire city. But Amy lives there, so presumably other anthros do as well and they're just enough of a minority that not seeing any isn't exceptional. Remember, nobody in Station Square sees anything weird about ANY of the anthros they talk to.
The mystic ruins, meanwhile, seem to be abandoned entirely- yes, they were inhabited by Echidnas at one point, but they're gone now and the only people there are Tails, who's a hermit for some reason, and like, six or seven dudes on a research expedition.
The fact that the only group of generic NPC Anthros before Forces is the echidnas, who are all dead, is actually not very comforting.
I get your point, but I think it's a bad one. Yes. There were very few nameless anthro NPCs and none counted among the living. However, we had new named anthro characters in just about every game.
Rush Adventure has anthro NPC-characters by the way. Koala & Polar bears.
Just to check all basis, don't ignore anything.

YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.The two worlds is bullshit the way it is presented. People kinda disliked that in X after all.
At least X actually did something with it.
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢If anybody actually said anything negative about it in that show, it was mostly in retrospect of the info.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I still think splitting humans and Sonic's anthro friends into two worlds is dumb, but considering there are no importants humans who aren't either part of Eggman's family and/or dead, I can see why they cut them out.
One Strip! One Strip!I found it frustrating while watching since the intro has anthro characters (from the pilot) that never get seen in the show. It made me believe we'd get stories in Sonic's world. Maybe even without Chris.
The anthros aren't even in the cut of the intro.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Oh wait, really? I never noticed that. Then again I was like eleven the last time I saw Sonic X; wasn't really that perceptive as a kid

Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢They weren't? I could have swore they were. Memory is a funny thing. Either way, I was coming off the comic and wanted to see Sonic's world instead of Chris's mansion.

X got crap for the whole two worlds thing before it became outright stated to be true in the games as well.
It's honestly dumb and I don't think Naka and co. really intended for it to be that way.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life! They are...
I've just been watching the Japanese intro a lot lately so I forgot.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie. We're talking about the people who explained that the world still has a moon because it rotated to the side that wasn't blown up.
People just can't let stuff go...
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Using named anthrope characters is a bad counterpoint cause they're still the minority compared to all the humans we see.
Hell, there isn't even a single Anthrope NPC civilians in SA 2 (which shows multiple locations and has a message broadcasted to the entire world), SHTH (Which involves the whole world), Unleashed which is self explanatory, etc.
While the idea of two world's have holes, the idea that they all live on the same planet also has holes.
¡PONLE QUE DIGA!:"¡HUMONGOSAURIO HASTA LA MUERTE!"And then in Forces, Eggman conquers the world and there's no humans to be seen. Question: does the continent lay-out shown in Unleashed match with the one shown in Forces?
That wasn't a counter point.
It was a "hey don't also ignore this thing" point.
Because everyone does.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Sega has no idea what they're doing with the Sonic universe or canon. The two worlds thing sounds like an asspull because it is one. Stating the obvious, but it's true lol.
Did anybody ever see the video on Hipster Sonic?
I actually feel bad that the guy got flak because he clearly put a lot of work into this and I like a lot of his ideas. He's also not wrong about a lot of the things he says. But despite what he says, he clearly doesn't know Sonic's core fanbase if he thought he'd get away with redesigning Sonic to that extent.
Its funny that we've gotten to the argument of "just because we don't see anthro NPC's doesn't mean they don't exist" given that was the same reasoning to explain why humans weren't in the classic games but were in the Adventure titles. Everything comes full circle I guess.
Its certainly an interesting concept; its just that by trying to help/save Sonic, he's essentially stripped away everything notable about the character and gameplay. Doesn't help that Mania came along and torpedoed many of his arguments about why such a redesign might by beneficial.
No, I miss the two world rantfest.
Because boy I'd tell you? What the heck is stopping Eggman from simply taking over the planet that currently doesn't have Sonic in it and then blitzkrieg the other one?
Or how does Tikal know that the Chao lived peacefully with humans for generations if she never been to human world? And I doubt she's that powerful that she can sense the emotions of Chao on a different planet.
Or to the fact, there's virtually no evolutionary difference between human world Chao and the animal world Chao.
Or how the humans know of Angel Island in Sonic Adventure and not "Holy shit! That island in the sky is breaking all laws of physics!"
Or ignoring it we all are, but in Sonic Chronicles Green Hill and Station Square were on the same world
Boy every time I think of "Two Worlds", I just find more and more plotholes. lol

Hot take: Sonic canon is irreversibly broken. The first few 3D games were trying to be in the same universe as the classic games, but the more recent 3D games are trying to be in a different universe than the first few 3D games. The canon makes no sense and will never make sense because the executives making the big decisions don't care about continuity, they just care about avoiding any and all criticism whatsoever, trashing anything that anyone even said a single negative thing about.

Also this even contradict spinoffs:
None of the Mario characters in the Olympic games question why the Sonic cast gets locations from two worlds in Dream events while they're stuck with one.
None of the Sega characters in the Superstar series question why several of the Sonic themed courses take place in a world most of them weren't even born in.
Ni GHTS appear in human world games and animal world games. Are two Ni GHTS as well?
In Smash, why didn't Sega mandate that Silver the Hedgehog be removed as a cameo in Green Hill if he's a modern character? They're pretty anal about this remember.
It's a house of cards, my friends lol. And in the end, Sega is being pretty dickish not giving Sonic's world an official name.
I mean, the fact that you don't see any anthrope NPC in the hub world's despite the fact they made those with the echidnas in the past makes it even worse.
¡PONLE QUE DIGA!:"¡HUMONGOSAURIO HASTA LA MUERTE!"
