One computer per username?

I have a problem. I first Became Known on this site (on a desktop computer which, although technically mine, is mostly used by a friend) as "korax1214". Then I got a netbook, so I wouldn't need to keep going next door to do computer stuff, and found that I needed a different login there, so became "robertfm". Now my laptop (far better than the netbook, as long as I don't need to tote it anywhere) has been repaired, and I needed to log in again — so I am now also "korax14159".

This is rather messy and confusing. Is there any way to use just the one login on all three machines? Surely the password I've given shows that I'm not trying to usurp somebody else's username (that being the point of a password)?

You can already do that. Just type in your handle and it's password, and you're done. You don't even need to log out on one machine to use another.

I already tried that. I tried logging in to this machine as "korax1214", with the correct password, only to be told that the username was already in use.

Did you click "Create Know-age" or "Already known. Just bake a new cookie." The first is for making a new handle. The second is for logging in with a handle that already exists.

OT, I know, but why is the discussion system not allowing the creation of new discussions? I wanted to create one for an error in the display of the Genesis page, but when I did it said "new discussions not allowed until 12:21 PST" (surely that should have said "20:21 UTC", at least for me, but that's another issue). So I waited until then and tried again — and got the error "new discussions not allowed until 12:26 PST". Moving the Goalposts much?

Edit: I typed "Genesis" (the band), but the link has been mangled to "Ge.ne.sis" (the game). Something is seriously b0rked.
