because of my high Dexterity, I have to stay in the light weight class or i'll lose out on my dexterity bonus and attack rating. I can only carry 30 lbs of weight at a time.

Luckily, due to the nature of this game, we're not actually adventuring- or rather, we are, but they're like, really short dungeon crawls.
You can pick-and-choose the items you think you'll need to bring for every mission.

The total modifier comes out to +2, and I have an ability score over 13, but that's a really, really bad set of scores. Is it okay if I reroll?

hmm... maybe you should reroll, if you are only a little better off than that. I think most people run from +6-+9 this game.

"12 12 6 17 6 9" were your rolls. Those are significantly worse overall, since you had three below-averages. But I only have one below-average and a few slightly-above. If they say no, I won't be surprised, but I was hoping for at least a 16.

Hm. Unfortunately, that doesn't look like anything's hugely disposable. Anything that could be is of little to no weight. I, too, wanted rope but couldn't get it.

... that seems an awful waste of stat bonuses. gives me a grand total of 6 more lb's to work with, subtracting the weight of the gauntlets, and you can imagine how easy it is to play a recorder with huge gauntlets on.
Gloves of dexterity I could put to more use. extra AC, REF, AR, and DMG on bows.
