-Lucius grins as he sees Halis peeking their head out of the door.-

Lucius: Ah, there you are! Thought I might have lost you again.

-He steps through the door and navigates his way through the minefield of plushies to take a seat on the desk.-

Lucius: ...You're looking chipper. What's been happening?

Stormchaser, Isbrand's Cabin

-Lissa simply grins at Isbrand's spiel.-

Lissa: You had me at "motorcycle", babe.

-She cuts her off with a tacklekiss.-

Halis: "Oh, me? Not much... just talking to haunted books, having a bit a personal crisis, y'know, stuff like that. The book talks in Braille, by the way. Talked about stuff like 'where the elements sleep' and numbers and whatnot."

They sigh.

Halis: "Though, gonna be honest... that second thing I mentioned, Luci, that one's been bothering me. Knowing what I know about myself and all, I kinda realized my mon form doesn't entirely make sense given what I am. There's no way of changing that aside from a Mew, though, and even then I don't know where one would be. Do you think it's a dumb idea?"

Stormchaser, Isbrand's Heaven

-Isbrand wraps her arms around Lissa and kisses her, opening one eye to glare at the Zorua watching them.-

   Shade   : <Oh, I don't mind. Feel free.>

-A Houndoom walks in and drags the Zorua out the door.-

Stormchaser, Halis's Cabin

-Lucius blinks at Halis.-

Lucius: ...Riiiiiight. Is it also saying stuff like "convincing them you can taste the food" or "I demand who is the man with no eyes" as well? Because those would be weird things for a book to say even if it wasn't, y'know, blank.

-He shrugs.-

Lucius: As for your mon form... I dunno. It's changed once before, and I kinda like you as a Lopunny. Granted, I reckon I'd like you as anything, but... what is it you know about yourself that makes you think it doesn't fit.

Stormchaser, Outside Isbrand's Cabin

-A Sneasel is sat in the corridor, and looks up at the Houndoom and Zorua as they emerge from the cabin where things are progressing at a rapid rate.-

Cait: <You too, huh?>

Halis: "Well... for one thing, I'm certainly not Normal, so on a type level I feel like that doesn't line up at all with what I am, and aside from that I just feel like there's some degree of a disconnect between my different forms so I'm hoping to fix that and bridge the gap, so to speak... that makes sense, right?"

They do seem rather concerned about this topic. It's unlikely they're just talking about it for no reason.

   Hellfire   : <The little one is stubborn. Even the cat knows when to leave.>

   Shade   : <Wow, rude much?>

-Lucius, for all his lack of insight, does seem to realise that the subject is coming up for a reason, and raises a concerned eyebrow at Halis.-

Lucius: ...Are you sure this is just about your mon type? I mean, I get that you don't subscribe to that bullshit we call gender, and good on you for that, but... you're always worrying about the disconnect between your different "forms", and never seem to be entirely sure of yourself whether you're my mon or my partner. Is there something else going on here?

-Cait shrugs.-

Cait: <Eh, stubborn ain't a bad thing ta be. I do gotta admire my lass's spirit, if nothin' else, but... half the time it feels like she's lugging me around as some sorta chore, yannow?>

This topic is starting to upset them a bit.

The Lifts stop and drop Gaia and Rogue on the floor, shooting back down to grab the others. The floor is surprisingly empty, save for a single room in the center, up a short flight of stairs, Dr. Braun speaks up, "Ah excellent. Will you two wait for your friends or shall we get down to business?"

Upon further examination the room has a few broken conveyer belts and for some reason large fans everywhere.

"Up to you, me? I've been waiting 20 years and I'm so close, I'd rather just get this done and over with, don't mind the others they aren't important."

Jackal stabs another Future series model with the sword he received from Arthur, "Glad I held onto this thing. This is getting a bit too close for tastes."

-Lucius shakes his head.-

Lucius: I'm not saying it's a dumb idea, I'm just saying... maybe it might be a better idea to figure out exactly who you, Halis Aria, are first? It's okay not to be 100% sure, but... I'm kinda getting the impression that you've never been even slightly sure.

Orre, Factory Tower - Level 25

-Gaia subtly makes sure her Grapnel Gear has anchored her securely to a section of solid pipe.-

Gaia: So close to what? Us unplugging you? You seem to be functionally immobile, so I see no reason not to wait for backup.

Stormchaser - Outside Isbrand's Room

   Hellfire   : <You are her only mon. It's not uncommon for people to become trainers later in life, but oftentimes I find that those who wait do so for a specific reason.>

   Shade   : <He's saying Lissa's probably fucked up in the head like me.>

-Hellfire sighs and hangs his head.-

   Hellfire   : <Why won't Isbrand let us get rid of you and Serra?>

Orre Factory - Floor 10

-Phantom wraps his kyoketsu-shoge's chain around a Futuremon and pulls, Obscura infusal making the chain to razor-sharp and slicing through the Futuremon with no more effort than a hot knife through butter.-

Phantom: "Hell, I wouldn't complain if I taught me how to use a sword. But I'm fine with my fists and a bow."

-Vulpecula decks a Futuremon as AA follows up with her chainsaw.-

Vulpecula: "Gods I love this armor."

Halis: "No, I mean... I know who I am, I just don't feel like I know what I am. I feel like I'm trying to be too many things at once and this would be a way of helping to consolidate that, but then... bleh. I don't know anymore."

They start moping around, hiding their face behind a pillow as they lay down face-first on the bed.

Stormchaser, Halis's Cabin

-Lucius is silent for a few moments before responding.-

Lucius: ...I know that feeling. I dunno if I know exactly how you feel, but I know what it's like.

-He reaches out to pat Halis on the back.-

Lucius: Maybe we should go try to find a Mew...? We know a few, after all, and even if they can't change your mon form they should at least be able to provide some advice. Cryptic, capricious advice, of course, but advice nonetheless.

Cait: <We're all fucked in the head in some way, mate. Only difference is what's fucking us.>

-She shrugs again.-

Cait: <Dunno what's fuckin' her... well, actually I do at this particular moment, but I'm speaking metaphorically like. Anyway, what's wrong with you?>

-there's a flash of light, and an Ultra Wormhole springs into existence-

-and out of this Wormhole sails a standard Mobius flying craft, which cheerfully declares the following:-

Mobius Intern: -over comms- Uh, hail, Ultra Base! Golly, it's good to see you. And base pantries. God, I'm sick of trail mix.

Anyways, it turns out the [static] outpost might be a little compr—

-and is cut off as a streak of silver light nips through the closing gate, and something slams into its flank-

Factory Raid - Level 10

Lamb continued to leap around the shadows, flares she fired at the futures felling them in a flash. The fires littered around the floor spiraled up and trapped another in a Fire Spin before collapsing on it.

They look up at Lucius again before standing back up off the bed.

Halis: "Well, alright. Something should be better than nothing, anyhow, and I'll be grateful for even that much by this point. I just hope they don't get mad at me or something."

They seem to be feeling a bit better.

   Hellfire   : <Nobody knows.>

   Shade   : <I have insatiable bloodlust and am just generally weird.>

   Hellfire   : <She sticks straws into ketchup bottles and drinks them.>

-Lucius gives a small smile.-

Lucius: C'mon, how could anyone ever be mad at you? If they were, I'd beat them up. So let's go find a Mew to interview and/or beat up.

-He grabs Halis by the wrist and proceeds to drag them out of the room.-

Stormchaser, Outside Isbrand's Cabin

-Cait lets out a short, harsh laugh.-

Cait: <Hah! You're in good company here, lass. Nothin' like a good fight and a good drink ta get ya goin'... though I gotta admit my tastes prolly run a little different ta yours.>

Halis: "H-hey, wait a minute, beat up? I don't think that's how it works, Luci..."

They're concerned by Lucius's choice of wording, but go along with it anyway.

Stormchaser

-Lucius smiles at Halis.-

Lucius: Hey, I was part of a team dedicated to beating up legendaries, remember? Granted, I was pretty shit at it and lost an arm in the process, but I seem to be on pretty good terms with them now! That, and, uh... I mean, Blitz is pretty cute...

-He trails off into mumbling.-

Stormchaser

   Shade   : <Isbrand gave me guns!>

-Hellfire lies down and rests his head in his paws.-

Halis: "Luci, you should probably stay focused, just saying..."

They sigh once more.

Stormchaser

-Lucius flushes red.-

Lucius: I refuse to be prosecuted for speaking the truth.

-He marches off of the Stormchaser and begins looking for an entrance to the Ersatz Alliance.-

Stormchaser, Outside's Isbrand's Cabin

Cait: <Heh. More than mine'd ever give me. I dunno why she doesn't trust me, but...>

-A hurt frown crosses her face for a moment, before she dismisses it with a shake of her head.-

Cait: <...Anyways, sounds like they're done. Wanna stick our heads back in ta find out fer sure?>

Halis: "Welp, guess you're guilty as charged, then."

They just keep following him as Lucius tries to find one of said enterances.

Ersatz Alliance

-Lucius goes a deep shade of red, but remains defiantly silent as he shoulders open the nearest door and begins looking around for a cashier.-
