"Well, yeah. You might say I'm the one responsible for Duke thinking of you in this way. It's not just from when he actually discovered at least a small part of you felt the same way, it's been like this for a little while. But the other aspects thought it would be better to not mention it because it could be awkward or because you could not like being considered a Pokémon's little brother." he then lets out a small chuckle.

Anja: <Mommy Galvani, who's the pretty lady?>

Deziree: That's Arika, a friend of ours. The man is Chrome, who's like me.

Anja: <Ooooooh! Is he a robot like you?>

Deziree: Hehe, kinda. He's a different kind of robot, though.

-He trails off, then gives a small sigh, seemingly unwilling to carry the train of thought to its conclusion.-

-Crow will likely find Herbert's room to be devoid of human inhabitants, the door leading into it unlocked, and the room itself showing no signs of having been lived in for about a week.-

-Dune blinks again.-

Dune: Oh. Oooooh.

Deziree: She sees them as the same thing.

I guess? There doesn't seem to be that much to do around these parts for me...

Crow: "Hm..."

-He gets out his phone and starts texting-

-On the table next to Herbert's bed, laid out amongst other possessions such as clothes and Pokeballs, his Pokegear buzzes as it receives Crow's text.-

"Well, considering what you go through, we just thought that maybe you could do with someone to look after you when you get in trouble and can't deal with it alone, maybe a shoulder to cry on or just someone that you could count on to help you with your problems or just give advice. We tried to play that role, but..." he then sighs "... In the end the only thing we managed to do was to make you terrified and distrustful."

They then come across a staircase going down and Loyalty leads Herbert down there.

Camphrier Hotel

-Crow notices the PokeGear buzzing on the table next to Herbert's bed-

Crow: "Hm..."

-He then notices Herbert's Poke Balls and decides to let out one of his Pokemon to see if they know anything-

Arika: You're taking this well. Apparently the pendant used its own power to bring itself to life. As for why, it absorbed the soul of an assassin during Ammy's adventure. As for that assassin...

-She thinks of panic, fear, despair. Her eyes shift to purple-

Arika(?): That's me. I survived as part of Arika's consciousness.

-Dune blinks.-

Dune: So the Pendant itself is... intelligent. Sentient. And... gestalt. I mean...

-Not really caring if the Arika he's hugging is the "Arika" he knows, he still hugs her.-

Dune: And you had no idea until recently, did you? That's why you started acting strangely...

-Deziree and Anja watch on.-

-Herbert is silent for several long moments before stopping at the top of the staircase.-

Herbert: I... I suppose I ought to try an explain things better, even if I've got no idea how to put it into words. I'm grateful for everything that you try to do for me. Really, I am. Arceus knows that there are times where I need someone like that. But...

-He glances down at the floor, and swallows before continuing.-

Herbert: ...Sometimes I can't help but wonder if it's all just a facade. It's an awful thing to think, I know, but after some of what's happened, I... not that I blame you, or him, or however you want to put it, but... gah, I've got no idea how to say this properly...

-EDI emerges from her ball and looks up at Crow curiously.-

EDI: <Greetings. Have you called upon my services for a reason?>

Crow: "Oh, hey. I don't think I've met you before. My name's Crow and I'd introduce my Pokemon, but they're all in their balls now, so yeah."

"You know where Bert went?"

Arika(?): Thanks. Chrome suggested Arika come to you guys first... She hasn't told her team quite yet. And... What do you mean by gestalt?
