I just beat Artorias. My favourite boss fight so far. Challenging, but fair.
And I finally collected 10 Souvenir of Reprisals via Pv P. It was a very long and trying process given how often I admit to losing a fair fight, and how often I kept getting ambushed by gank squads, but I was eventually graced with the 10 item I needed to get Darkmoon Blade and the miracle trophy.
Last night I choose to Link the Fire, with Solaire at my side to complete his questline. Beforehand though I did a shitton of soul farming to get the ore I needed, then I made every boss soul weapon I could make in my first playthrough. In addition to that, I now have every trophy for all weapon ascensions in the game.
Noice. Getting some of those Chunks is a bit tedious. And especially getting the rare weapon drops.
Oh wait, you said ascensions... You are going to hate the "Knight's Honor" achievement.
I already got it the on the PS 3 version of Dark Souls, so I'm aware of what's inshore. Luckily, the only hard part from here is cutting Seath's tail on NG+. I did the smart thing and farmed the Channeler's Trident before I beat the game.
FUCK THE BLUE TITANITE SLAB PATH HOLY SHIT
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Isn't there a free blue slab in either the DLC, Archives or the forest?
That'd be the Royal Wood, yeah.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets. You still need two Blue Slabs for the acheivement tho.
Or if you like to have more than one maxed out Enchanted weapon.
You have to go into NG+ (and NG++) to get every weapon anyway, might as well just wait until then and grab the blue slab in the Royal Wood a second time.

True, unless you're a determined (and masochistic) perfectionist who is really bothered by leaving such things behind.
I did my run getting every item in the game. Matter of principle.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Lucky me, I got a Blue Titanite Slab from one of the Moonlight Butterflies in the Crystal Caves, so I didn't have to take the path to the intended free one after the invisible path.
But I did anyway, since I was there and had Prism Stones and player bloodstains to help me out.
I just wish dropping Prism Stones was faster and easier to aim. Half of the tedium would be gone with that.
So for the first time in my life I was properly Gravelorded at Sen's Fortress, on New Game Plus. Thanks to unfortunately place Red Phantom Snakeman, I fell to my death right as I was at the bridge that would take me outside Sen's and lead to the hidden bonfire.
It is a real shame that the game doesn't tell you if your "curse" killed another or not. Would make Gravelording a lot more appealing if you got some other feedback than just more Pv P.
So I got my Moonlight Greatsword by cutting the tail, and even on NG+ it deals pretty good damage.
You got 110% magic damage to thank for that. No split damage = only one defence calculation to go through = can beef up a single stat for all the damage. Only things with kickass magic defence are going to not be sliced like butter by that thing.
I really recommend carrying Repair Powders or even the Repair spell if you like to shoot blade beams. They're effectively extra strong soul arrows but kinda slow with less reach.
Yeah, I had to do some digging to find out the damage formula to find out why my Magic Longsword was hitting like a wet noodle despite the pretty numbers. Sad to say, but the game kinda pushes you towards the normal +15 upgrade pretty hard unless you're doing specific builds.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Oh I'm aware about split damage.I was just surprised it was still hitting hard.
Split damage weapons aren't bad per se, well, kind of. You pretty much need to go 50 INT for magic weapons as an exmaple to get any use out of them. Well, and you'd really want to go for the Enchanted ascension instead of Magic if you got 30+ INT, I think?
All depends on the scaling, and a "quality" weapon being made into a magic/divine weapon is probably worse than just a STR or DEX weapon.
Though if you're already pushing for 40 DEX or STR and 50 INT or FTH, you really should be carrying something you can buff with you.
That being said, I'm a weird mofo who likes my Sorcerer with base STR and 16 DEX running around with Velka's Rapier and one shotting Black Knights with a parry&riposte. :>
Sorcerer base STR: 9
Velka's Rapier STR req: 8
It's Danke Soleseth The Seconding that has Sorcerers with a base STR of like... 4?

Base STR isn't enough for a sorcerer to use Velka's Rapier tho. Unless you're a filthy 2-hander, of course. xP
but HOW?Just completed New Game Plus. It went by really fast for Lost Izalith and Tomb of the Giants thanks to the shortcuts you could take once you were familiar with the level design. It also helped a ton that I found a player to summon who was just waiting at the Bed of Chaos boss fight to help me do half the work.
And now I have the Plat.
Kay, so I've completed the every NPC questline except for Solaire's. Just to keep track of them, that would men the following:
Crestfallen Warrior (killed after he hollowed near New Londo Ruins)
Anastacia of Astora (saved her soul from Lautrec and restored her to life)
Siegmeyer of Catarina (killed by Sieglinde after he hollowed in Ash Lake)
Lautrec of Carim (killed after he made the mistake of killing my Firekeeper)
Ingward (moved to Firelink Shrine after I killed the Four Kings)
Petrus of Thorolund (killed him before he killed Rhea)
Rhea of Thorolund (killed after she hollowed in the Duke's Archives)
Griggs of Vinheim (killed after he hollowed in Sen's Fortress)
Big Hat Logan (killed after he hollowed in the Duke's Archives)
Laurentius of the Great Swamp (killed after he hollowed in Blighttown)
Quelana of Izalith (Thanked me for killing the Bed of Chaos and gifted me her last Pyromancy)
Dusk of Oolacile (Recused her twice, once from the Golem and once from Manus)
