I'm curious... Why is Wind - Breath of Hard bad?
Because it's boring, generic, wastes its setting and has an incredibly bad main heroine who steal the bonus route's ending from the most pitiful character, who gets some sort of contrived bullshit reason as to why she can't get a happy ending. The ill girl's fate depends on what route you're in and doesn't make much sense. I'm going to proceed to spoil you and say she dies during the timeskip at the end of her own route, but in her sister's route she gets better because she's willing to get better. But she wasn't before because it's... blah, it's just dumb.
That site's where I got it after several painful hours of downloading. Works like a charm though.
Are Soul Link and Figures of Happyness any good?

They're okay. Figures of Happiness has some pretty godawful art though.
Pity.
I wanted to play because of my fascination with death.
I wouldn't say it's bad, but the art is just awful.
I downloaded Snow Sakura. I'm willing to ignore or even try to take a look at the porn.
Also mediocre and with bad art. But anyway, there's no one forcing you to read through the sex scenes. Just skip through them all. Nothing important happens during them anyway.
Hum... Maybe I shouldn't play it, then? I think I'm downloading Ef a Fairy Tale of the Two, of my internet connection allows me.

That's a very good one, yes. It's also got a unique system set up with multiple protagonists, so everyone gets a happy end. Well, mostly.
I don't know if I'd say you shouldn't play the mediocre stuff, but I'd definitely recommend you go to the more highly recommended ones first. Playing something like Snow Sakura first might give you a bad impression of the medium as a whole.

Still downloading Figures of Happyness, if only for the plot, though. XD
I just know I fail at life for having started to play Da Capo 2 and Yo Jin Bo (so I won't become depressed when it gets sad) and... Liking Yo Jin Bo better. Then again, I like Otome and have a kink for anime characters with long hair (why, hello Bo!).
...Only three bxb: Enzai is said to be shotacon, Animamundi... Dunno, sounds interesting but I hope it's not a gorefest (I'm a weirdo who thinks too much gore is funny) and Absolute Obedience... Nah, either.
I can't install Japanese in my computer (long story) so... I won't be able to download some games. Oh, well.

Arha: OH WOW THANKS
nishishishi~ Nii-nii no baka... .__.
?
How would that work? Even if for some reason you can't install a language pack, I'm not understanding what effect that could have on a VN. (And if it's not a language pack problem, then I'm really curious as to what the problem is. :/)

Applocale. If you can't set applocale to Japanese, some games won't even install for you.

nishishishi~ Nii-nii no baka... .__.Ah. Interesting.
DO THAT!
Ef has art so pretty that you won't be able to look at real life scenes again, without feeling disgust!
Ef has music so emotional that it will make you cry whenever you hear it!
Ef has plot so good that... well, at least it's... kinda ok !
Ef has sex scenes that you can pre-emptively turn off!
I thought Ef's plot was amazing too. Well, the second half chapters for sure.
Started playing/reading Higurashi When They Cry. I have to say, I completley forgot how creepy the first chapter arc was. Despite the rather sub-par art, the sounds really did make things creepier.
And just earlier I found patches to restore the original music, sounds, and replace the art with the PS 2 updates. I think I need to play the first chapter again to see just how much creepier things are gonna get.
Shit, I need to find those too. The sound effects really helped make Umineko what it is too.
Argh.
So many cool visual novels, but I'd have to space the downloads over a week or so.
-_-
Ah well, I can wait and make do with the small-ish visual novels I have while they download.
EDIT:
Wait, my netbook doesn't have a disc drive.
I'm screwed, aren't I?

"The world ends with you. If you want to enjoy life, expand your world. You gotta push your horizons out as far as they'll go."Daemon Tools and Power ISO both emulate disc drives without the actual need for one. Other tools like them probably do the same.
I write pretty good fanfiction, sometimes.Oh, all right then.
...Man, this is more complicated than I expected.
-_-
Edit:
ARGH.
I just discovered that I can't pause downloads without them crashing.
I'll have to wait for my internet connection to improve, this probably won't work out at all.

This page seems to have a crack with it. Direct download, though.
