I am fond of the unit customization.
Game is hard, though.
I see the Awesomeness.
The AI is ridiculously aggressive on minimum setting. Makes it really damn hard to turtle properly cause you have to know where all the oil derricks are and rush them.
Fight smart, not fair.
I find the AI more annoying than hard. It tends to spam a LOT of the machine gun bunkers and heavy cannon hardpoints, so you often need to bring a ton of bunker buster or bomber units with you when finally going on the offensive.
Besides that, are you aware of the Warzone Resurrection Project (basically a re-balance of the game along with new game engine improvements, even new weapons) and the Warzone 2150 MOD? Both are worth checking out if you're a fan!
EDIT: Just realized that they mention both of those mods on the Warzone Trope page. Doh!

I checked and it doesn't have it's own thread. I have to admit, Warzone 2100 is probably my favorite RTS overall, despite the AI being far more aggressive than what I'm used to. I love the base building component as that's always my favorite part of the game. When in doubt, spam mortar pits.
