• Les Yay: Izumi and Kanade's friendship has a lot of gay subtext to it with the girls often going out on lunch dates, while Izumi working up the courage to ask if they can continue hanging out after she moves is set up to feel like she's' flat-out confessing romantic feelings for her.
• Tear Jerker: The manga's entire concept is this, given that it focuses on a very lonely shut-in whose crippling depression and anxiety leave her a listless, borderline suicidal shell of a woman, and can hit very hard for readers who have found themselves in a similar position.
• The Woobie: Izumi's depression and anxiety are so bad that they can make her fall genuinely ill, and she's often wondering why she's alive and even briefly contemplates suicide. The poor girl is desperately in need of a hug or twenty.
