- Nightmare Fuel: Lily's ghost story, which borders on Surprise Creepy with how effectively jarring it is in comparison with the rest of the game. It doesn't help that it contains both a textual and visual Jump Scare.
- The episodes that Sachiko (and later Takako) suffers from, due to the glitching effects and intense static that accompanies each one. It gets worse when you realize that each one signifies Takako losing another memory.
- Tear Jerker: The game itself could qualify as one massive Tear Jerker, but special mention has to be given to Sachiko and Takako's final conversation across realities.
