Trivia / Strikebreaker

  • Magnum Opus Dissonance: Asimov considers this story a Foil to Nightfall (1941): while he thought the social commentary in Strikebreaker would make it one of his most discussed stories, it remained relatively obscure; Nightfall, which he didn't consider anything special, is one of the most popular novelettes in science fiction history.
  • Publisher-Chosen Title: His own opinion for 'worst publisher title change'. This story was originally published with the publisher-chosen title of "Male Strikebreaker", and he changed it to just "Strikebreaker" when publishing it in one of his collections. (Swapping the character's genders would in no way affect the story.)
