** Downplayed with the team's uniform. In ''Metegol'', the Stripes - the inspiration for the Underdogs United - wore yellow and green uniforms with purely black shorts. In ''United'', the Underdogs United wear green, yellow ''and'' red uniforms with red stripes on their shorts. The hue of their uniforms are also noticeably desaturated compared to the film.
** The eye colors for Capi, Beto, and Kiko are also changed. In ''Metegol'', Capi had teal green eyes, Beto had light blue, and Loco, the character Kiko's based on, had light brown. Here, Kiko has maroon eyes, while Beto and Capi's are switched around, with the former having dark green eyes and the latter light blue.
* AdaptationNameChange: The mellow hippie Loco is renamed Kiko for unexplainable reasons.
* AdaptationPersonalityChange: While can sometimes still border on being a CompetitionFreak, Capi isn't as blunt and sarcastic as his film counterpart, and while still occasionally annoyed by Beto's overconfident and egotistical behavior, he's less openly {{vitriolic|BestBuds}} about it. He also loves to follow the rules, often to the point of obsession as shown in "Run-Amok Refs" where he takes Sergeant Referee's place as the one who gives out red cards at any foul play.
* AdaptedOut: None of the major characters in ''Metegol'' are seen or even mentioned in ''United'', with the obvious exceptions of Capi, Beto, and Loco/Kiko. Among them are protagonist Amadeo, Laura, El Grosso, Liso and the Rippers, the rest of the Underdogs/Stripes, The Manager, and more. Given that ''United'' takes place in a separate continuity, where the rules of how the characters are made have changed significantly, this is {{justified|Trope}}.
* AlternateContinuity: ''United'' is a spin-off to ''Metegol'' that takes place in a separate universe, where the foosball players are magical entities who live in a sports-centered world underneath a foosball table, itself now located in an arcade as opposed to a bar. Another noteworthy example is that the lineup for the foosball players are made up of five members of different genders, instead of being an eleven, all-male team.
* AnimateInanimateObject: In addition to living foosball players, the world of Sportsville are inhabited with talking balls and other sports equipment, as well as a toy rabbit as the main antagonist.
* ArchEnemy: The Underdogs United to Worst, whom they fight on a daily basis.
* BigBad: Waldobert Worst's has two goals to destroy Sportsville: substituting sports and physical activities for non-physical work (like sleeping) and attempting to break up the titular team by setting up challenges that would normally get on their nerves.
* BabyOfTheBunch: Gigi is the smallest and youngest member of the Underdogs United.
* BrilliantButLazy: Despite being fairly intelligent and coming up with the best ideas for his plans even if they never work out the way he hoped, Worst spends most of his free time sleeping on Chester and treating him as his personal couch.
* CheerfulChild: Gigi is always full of energy.
* ContrastingSequelAntagonist: Worst is this to El Grosso of the original film.
** They're goals of wanting to get rid of sports (namely soccer), were motivated out of [[EvilIsPetty pettiness]] and [[GreenEyedMonster jealousy]] (Grosso because he lost to a game of table foosball in the past, Worst because they get in his way of enjoying himself), they serve as arch-enemies to the main characters, and are both [[ItsAllAboutMe selfish]], [[SmugSnake overconfident]], and [[ManipulativeBastard cunning]] individuals whose {{f|atalFlaw}}laws end up leading to their downfall.
** In terms of appearance, Grosso is an EeriePaleSkinnedBrunette who is [[TallDarkAndHandsome quite shapely]] for his age. Worst, meanwhile, is a [[HairRaisingHare blue toy rabbit]] who is [[TheNapoleon short]] and [[FatBastard stubby]] and not at all attractive.
** In terms of personality, Grosso puts up the facade of a seemingly nice man to hide his devious behavior and tends to retain his cool even in stressful moments, while Worst is an open CardCarryingVillain who has a tendency to [[HairTriggerTemper fly off the handle at the slightest provocations]], ESPECIALLY when it involves sports. However, Worst is overall an IneffectualSympatheticVillain who has shown in few occasions that [[PetTheDog he cares for the Underdogs and his minion Chester]], to the point of putting aside his villainy to go and save them when they are in danger, as shown in "Playing Outside Sportsville" and "Worst Christmas Present"; meanwhile El Grosso is bad to the bone and has no warmth for anyone other than himself.
** In terms of ''how'' evil they are, Grosso wants to reclaim his victory by destroying not only the foosball table and the bar it takes place in, but also ''the town Amadeo lives in''; [[DisproportionateRetribution all because he lost to a game of table foosball]]. By comparison, the [[{{Pun}} worst]] thing Worst does is using his devices to make everyone as lazy as he is, rendering the titular team powerless. He never resorts to the [[TakeOverTheWorld Taking Over the World]] strategy.
* DenserAndWackier: The show is more bouncier, carefree, and crazier compared to it's more serious and down-to-earth source material.
