Sonic and co save a ship from some Metarex, only to find it's Decoe luring them into a trap set by Eggman and the Metarex who have teamed up to fight Sonic.
Tropes:
- Heroic BSoD: Tails suffers this after Sonic and Knuckles are hurt. Cosmo of all people snaps him out of this.
- Near-Villain Victory: If Tails hadn't thought of reversing the black hole and Knuckles didn't activate the Master Emerald, the Metarex and Eggman would have destroyed the crew.
- Villain Team-Up: Eggman joins the Metarex to destroy Sonic and the crew. This lasts for a few more episodes before the doc reveals he was pretending to help them so he could find out what they're up to.
