- Artistic License – Law: The episode plays into an old myth when Debbie is trying to serve Pepa with a summons. As soon as Pepa sees the summons, she runs off and jumps into her car to avoid being handed the document by Debbie. When being served a summons, you are considered to have been served when you are informed by the process server that they have a document for you. There is no requirement for the subject being served to physically touch the paper. You can drop it off outside of their door and you have met the legal requirement of service.
