Anger Born of Worry: Caroline goes absolutely nuclear after the barn is burned. But it's only because one of the girls (Mary) disobeyed extremely important rules to never take lanterns or matches to the barn, which not only nearly injured their animals, but also Mary herself, all because she wanted to study late and was trying not to wake anybody up at night.
Was Too Hard on Her: Caroline comes to this conclusion later in the episode. While Mary did disobey a rule aviut lanterns in the bar and nearly got herself killed, it was because she was trying to get extra credit at school, and she only did that because she didn't want to disturb anyone in the house.
