Pyrrha wakes up in a bed to find her injuries healed. Nora is there along with Weiss who had also been healed. Nightingale appears and says she healed them. Weiss explains that she is one of the headmaster's advisors, but used to be the school nurse. Nightingale then explains that Caren wished for them to swap jobs, so she is the school nurse again, which works for her as healing is her true calling. On a TV screen, Semiramis, Medea, and Glynda are repairing the Hanging Gardens of Babylon.
Weiss explains that Mercury won Round Two. On the bright side, she finally summoned something and Pyrrha defeated Gilgamesh. However, Pyrrha doesn't consider it a victory because she was eliminated before him. She'll train harder until she can surpass him. Weiss and Pyrrha decide they want to come back to Chaldea next year.
Mercury is unconscious and bandaged on a bed. Jack sits next to him drawing with colored pencils. Also in the room is Caren, Ruby, Ushiwakamaru, Atalanta, and Achilles. Caren says she fixed him up as best as she could, but he may be asleep for a while. She leaves telling them to thank him for granting her wish. Ruby tells Ushi she should be happy that she finally told Mercury the truth, but Achilles glares and says she should have told him privately, not on TV. This is not a sitcom drama. Ushi says she doesn't care that the whole world was watching. It was tearing her up inside to stay silent, and she says it doesn't compare to how Mercury suffered under their father. Atalanta says Mercury talked about his father a few times and how he's the reason he lost his legs. She tells Ushi that Mercury is a good guy, and now that he knows the truth, they have a chance to connect as siblings. She and Achilles leave so that he can get ready for Round Three.
Ruby looks at Jack's drawing and sees it depicts Jack, Nursery Rhyme, Atalanta, Ruby, and Mercury standing together smiling. Above them is her mother Reika with angel wings. Jack writes "My Family", which makes Ruby tear up with happiness. As they walk down the hall, Achilles asks Atalanta if she has feelings for Mercury. She glares at him and denies it, but he sighs and says now that he and Blake are dating, he can't always be there for her, and wants to make sure there is someone to take care of her, Jack, and Nursery Rhyme. They go their separate ways.
Bazett slowly drives toward Chaldea with Kirei on shotgun and Serenity sleeping in the back. She wakes up and Kirei says they should be home in about an hour. Bazett asks her how she was born. She says she just woke up seven years ago looking like she does now, except her skin used to be pitch black. The only thing she knew was that her name was Serenity. She found the other humanoid Grimm shortly afterwards. Kirei suddenly realizes that the number of reported humanoid Grimm is similar to the population of that wiped out town and theorizes that the citizens were somehow transformed into the humanoid Grimm. Serenity wonders if that is true, then for what purpose?
They spot a cloaked man stumbling in the middle of the road drinking from a flask. Bazett honks the horn to tell him to get out of the way but he doesn't. Kirei senses he is dangerous and orders Bazett to ram him, then Serenity suddenly recognizes him as one of the men who had been slaughtering her kind. The man stops playing drunk and charges straight at the car. Kirei tells them to abandon the car and he and Serenity jump out. Bazett attempts to do the same, but a hooked red and black blade hits her door and she can't open it. The man punches the car and it flips through the air and lands upside down with Bazett dazed. Kirei attempts to run to her, but another hooked blade, on fire, flies through the air and hits the gas tank, so the car explodes.
The man declares she is dead and removes his cloak. He wears a red vest and black pants, and has cold blue eyes and silver hair. A shocked Kirei identifies him as Marcus Black. Marcus is glad he is famous, but Kirei says he is supposed to be dead. Marcus sneers that of course his son would say that because his son is a fool who did not make sure he was dead. He says once he is done here, he will go to Chaldea to pay his worthless son a visit and also see if his daughter ever amounted to anything. Kirei draws his Black Keys and says he won't go near Chaldea because he will die here.
Serenity sneaks up on Marcus and tries to stab him, but he catches her wrist. She becomes shocked when her poisonous skin has no effect. He says his Semblance makes him immune to all poisons. In fact, exposure to poison makes him stronger. He crushes her wrist and makes her scream. Kirei throws some of his Black Keys at him, but a hooked blade flies and knocks them out of the air. Kirei looks around, trying find Marcus' accomplice who is hiding in the wilderness.
Marcus punches Serenity and knocks her out. Kirei asks what he wants with her. He says he was hired by someone to retrieve Serenity and kill anyone who stands in his way. He doesn't know why and doesn't care. He lunges at Kirei and throws a punch. Kirei turns his blades into a shield and blocks, but the punch shatters it. Before it can reach his heart, he blocks it with his right arm, which breaks. As Kirei staggers in pain, Marcus boasts that he doesn't need weapons because he has strengthened and refined his body to the point that all armor and Aura is useless against him. He attacks again and Kirei evades him. Marcus smirks when he sees another hooked blade flying at Kirei's back, but to his shock, Kirei blocks it, then punches Marcus and knocks him down.
Before Kirei can catch his breath, someone runs up and stabs him in the back. Kirei turns around to see a dark skinned young man in a loincloth, wielding a hooked blade. Kirei realizes he isn't human and the man confirms he is the first humanoid Grimm, introducing himself as Angra Mainyu. He flashes back to that day seven years ago when Arturia nearly destroyed him with Excalibur, only for someone to find and restore him. Now his mission is to destroy this kingdom and its people. Kirei asks how he could kill his own kind, and he says he only cares about himself.
Kirei angrily summons another Black Key and attacks him, but Marcus gets up and kicks him in the leg, breaking it. Marcus tells Kirei he could have won, but alcohol is a poison and he drinks it all the time, so he is always at his best. He stomps on Kirei's chest and caves it in. Kirei coughs up blood and goes unresponsive. Marcus looks at the burning car and sees nothing. He says they are done here and picks up Serenity. Angra Mainyu says by adding Serenity's poison to their Black Mud, their group will be able to create stronger Alters. Marcus says he doesn't care what his employers' plans are or even if this kingdom is destroyed. All he wants is revenge on his son Mercury for trying to kill him.
