- Double Subverted: ...only to gain an RP accent once he becomes emperor.
- Parodied: The Romans play up the British traits beyond the accents, and even use British sayings and anachronistically drink Earl Grey.
- Zig Zagged: Some characters have RP accents, others do not. However, some American-accented characters grow up into speaking RP later on.

- The characters speak in their (non-British) actors' native accents.
