Fridge Brilliance

  • When Piper is consulted in the first book about the serial beheadings, he very dryly remarks that he concluded the cause of death was beheading. Given that Paladin's Hope reveals that Piper is a minor wonderworker who can feel the last moments of people's lives by touching their bodies, and the Smooth Men attack from behind, he probably touched one of the victims only to be rewarded with the sensation of being decapitated. Ouch.

Fridge Horror

  • Wisdom mentions that demons have lobster growth, growing larger and more powerful over time without a stopping point. In the Clocktaur War duology, the nearly-indestructible Clocktaurs are piloted by bound demons, which break free post-climax in the second book. Putting both of these points together, it is a very good thing that the paladins of the Dreaming God were so quick to destroy all the surviving Clocktaurs.
