** [[spoiler:When the broadcast actually ''begins'', despite the efforts of the Elders to stop it, they grow so enraged and driven to end Vegapunk's message that Saturn and Nusjuro both separately ''ignore'' the Straw Hats and Giant Warrior Pirates, as well as Jewelry Bonney and some of Vegapunk's remaining satellites, in order to focus on securing the Mother Flame and wrecking the rest of the island in a desperate attempt to prevent any more information from being leaked.]]

* HoistByHisOwnPetard: [[spoiler:Ordering Vegapunk killed ultimately ends up blowing up in their face, as it sets off a DeadmansSwitch threatening to reveal secrets the World Government had destroyed entire islands and committed genocide just to keep hidden.]]

* SmugSuper: As showcased by both Saturn and Mars, thanks to their powers and unquestioned authority, when they believe they have the upper hand on a situation, they'll act ''very'' smug about it, and deride others for thinking it could turn out any other way. When they ''don't'' have full control, they become [[FreakOut increasingly upset]] and ferocious in their attempts to correct this, even to the point of a non-stop assault on everything before them. [[spoiler:Realising that they can't stop Vegapunk's international broadcast or destroy Egghead (which [[CantKillYouStillNeedYou he was partially counting on]]), they proceed to unleash [[ThereIsNoKillLikeOverkill utter destruction]] against their other targets to regain control]].

** As a sign of how committed they are to this, during the Egghead arc, [[spoiler:some of the Elders find themselves faced with a SadisticChoice due to Vegapunk's DeadMansSwitch and international broadcast revealing the "truth of the World". Saturn and Nusjuro attack two separate groups of the Straw Hats, aiming to kill both Nico Robin (who can translate the Poneglyphs) and Jewellery Bonney (who outranks them in the [[KillerRobot Pacifista's]] command hierarchy, but after failing to swiftly kill their target and facing resistance that threatens to drag out the conflict whilst the broadcast is underway, they ultimately and ''very'' reluctantly call off the attack in favour of securing the Mother Flame and finding the broadcast's source with immense force. Despite having the chance to kill two major thorns in their side, they ultimately choose to prioritise keeping the world in ignorance as per Imu's design]].

this is about being extremely loyal to Imu, not egocentric

* ItsAllAboutMe: PlayedWith, in that they themselves don't express this sentiment for themselves, but rather ''on behalf of'' someone else. [[spoiler:Their UndyingLoyalty and BlindObedience to Imu's will means that they spare no effort to enforce their desires, no matter what is requested of them or how much suffering is caused for the most trivial of reasons. Imu's decision to erase the Lulusia Kingdom because "it's close" is done with practically no hesitation on their part, and the Elders seem to regard themselves as mere tools who exist to enforce Imu's will without forcing them to expend any effort themselves. This attitude is also passed down to any subordinates of theirs, as they regard any questioning of their actions to be going against Imu's will, an unforgivable sin meriting extreme punishment should the line be crossed]].

I don't think the others have used that term

* CallAHumanAMeatbag: He starts referring to his opponents as "bio-response" when he and the others get truly furious about all their efforts unraveling, further emphasizing how they view humans as beneath them.
