In conclusion

Perhaps I should state it again, but I am, by no means, a psychologist! I have never deeply studied psychology, never been to college on the matter and do not exert the profession of psychiatry! And above all, I DO NOT KNOW YOSHIO SAKAMOTO ON A PERSONAL LEVEL, and thus cannot say what goes in his mind! What I wrote here is 100% my speculation on the matter!

Perhaps I'm wrong. Perhaps Yoshio Sakamoto did indeed put himself in the story as the abusive father figure Adam Malkovich. Perhaps abusing Samus mentally and physically is his true desire.

But perhaps I am right. Perhaps he created a monster in order to end the series. Think about: in Fusion, the Power Suit is gone! All Metroids are killed off! There are no more X-Parasites! This is truly the ending! Without Metroids, there cannot be a Metroid game!

Perhaps there's even a third option, and Yoshio Sakamoto is a hack writer, and he really doesn't realize he created a monster! Other M is the first Metroid title where he's had green light to do everything alone! He always had a team to back him up in his previous works. Maybe he is an incompetent on his own!

What I can conclude from every information I have gathered on the subject, Sakamoto did not like Prime! It's the only thing that is concrete! If it was the gameplay, the story, the setting, or even the fact it simply exists, that I don't know. But he's shown disdain to the sub series, by claiming it only sold well because they hided Samus's gender!note

And thus ends my analysis on Why did Metroid: Other M become what it is! Am I right? Am I wrong? Am I wasting everyone's time and space on the server writing this pointless text? The latter, most likely. But then, maybe there is more to Sakamoto other than simply being the guy who ruined everything.

What makes this Hilarious in Hindsight is the fact that if Sakamoto was trying to kill Metroid, he ultimately failed. 3 words: Metroid. Prime. 4.
