After a small distraction of Yu Gi Oh The Abridged Series blackjack, we head out to go to the Shrine to save Maki's mother! Right after shopping for Revival Beads and Chewing Souls. You never know when the next battle can mess you up. In the store, people are complaining that there are no weapons for sale. Well...this seems foreshadowy. We take a shortcut through the un-demon infested mall. I should mention that some stores, Rosa Candia and the Peace Diner, are closed. While candy store, Tadashi and Yin&Yang are still open for business. Velvet Room is still closed but what can I do about that?
One battle nets Elly and Nanjo a rank up with Elly learning Dia and Nanjo learning Sukukaja. I hear that status moves are handy in this game but lets stomp these minor demons first. Which somehow reminds me that I need to be somewhere...
One contact with a Slime later, we head to the SEBEC building. Which seems to be blockaded in. Reiji is doing his best to break through but is resisted and the guards threaten to kill. Mark steps in covering for him and managing to get him to go away. Nanjo is impressed slightly and Mark remarks that even he has a mother who would grieve for him. You know, if this were a more popular game, there would be slash fics of those two.
After trouncing some demons, Nat's Persona getting a rank up in the process to learn Pulinpa, we make it into the shrine, where everyone gets distracted by a butterfly.
(No seriously, they do.) But this butterfly is the one and only Philemon! He tells us that there are a number of paths to take and that we have a choice to make. Hmm...strange plot-effecting stuff is going on! Our minds are teleported back to the shrine, where we meet Setsuko Sonomura, mother of Maki. Suffering from a gunshot wound, she tells us that Kandori goons did this and that he is behind the change to our town. She helped create the Deva System, a machine that can warp reality. She was trying to head for the police station but Elly tells us that it is overrun. Mark asks how she made it out and Setsuko says that there is a secret passage in the abandoned factory and hands him the security card. She then faints with Yukino saying we have to go to the school. Mark and Nanjo head off, Mark saying he has business and Nanjo going with to stick with the security card. Ah well. That leaves us with the two lovely women who are my favorite characters so far.
After Yukino ignoring a Zombie Girl for her Spell Card, (How the heck did I know that that was the right contact?) we get to the school after Elly saying a little ditty about roses being blue and brains and true. We are greeted by Ms. Saeko who tells Yukino and Eriko to go get the passageway hole blocked and takes me and Mrs/Ms? Sonomura to the infirmary. Right after Setsuko tells of her story, we are told to tell the others NOT to block the hole, since Mark and Nanjo have to go in through there. Huh. Nice flip flop. Well save tree is nearby so I will cut this short for Wed. is a day in which I chose a path to take! Shall I take down this evil organization called SEBEC or will another path open up for me?
