In which the fruits of our mental labours are revealed

And we are back. Last time we took on the mid-terms in a rather large two-week two-part update! Now, back to the action! And by action I mean results.

Upon entering our room we immediately find a pleasant surprise; our new All-purpose Katana has arrived! Huzzah! After that we get a phone call from Kazushi, who wants to hang out tomorrow. Not got a whole lot else to do, so why not? A bit more study before sleep and then we're done for the day, bringing us over to Sunday. We find ourselves in the local cafe with Kazushi, who is complaining that he sticks out like a sore thumb with his suit on. Well hey, you're the one who put it on, not me. Apparently he gets rather nervous before competitions. Honestly, that doesn't surprise me. To compete in front of a bunch of people, knowing that they're counting on you? Yeah... We tell him that it's just who he is, but he just sees that as running away from the issue. Darn, no social link rank up for us. This guy's hard to please, I tell ya! Ah well, back to the dorm. Maybe we'll get results of the mid-term tomorrow.

Turns out I was right, that's exactly what's going to happen! Truly, I am the savviest of dudes. Yukari chats with us about how Junpei isn't all too enthusiastic about seeing his results today. We also have a brief chat about Fuuka, the other Persona user in 2-E. I get it, game, you want us to go talk to her! Sheesh... At lunch time we find that the results have been posted, so we go take a look at them. Turns out we earned a pretty high score from the results. This... gives us a charm increase, somehow. Ah well, a boost to charm is always appreciated. During the afternoon, we get a breakdown from Ms Toriumi about all the stuff people did wrong, and once again are given an option to sleep. But sleep is for the weak, so let's stay up! This gives us more academics (of course) and not much else. After school we can head over to the scoreboard and see how well everyone else did. Yukari did okay, Junpei did poorly, Akihiko did well and Mitsuru blew everyone else out of the water. Colour me unsurprised.

Anyway, let's head over to the Shrine today, since the kid wanted us to play with her at some point. She lets us choose what we want to do, to which we respond with, oh, I don't know... jungle gym? She seems pretty happy about our choice, but then she notices how dark it's getting outside. She doesn't want to go home, though, since her parents are continuously fighting and apparently getting a divorce, but who cares, we get a new social link! -Shot- Yeah, probably deserved that... We head on back to the dorm to chat with everyone else. Mitsuru's out (probably celebrating), but we can talk with the others. Yukari and Akihiko are happy with their grades, Junpei... not so much. Maybe this will encourage him to study more, but I somehow doubt it. We head upstairs for a bit more study before sleeping until Tuesday. We talk with Junpei at the school gates, who asks us how we're feeling about the exams. Since we did pretty good, I'd say we're fairly satisfied with them. Junpei talks about two girls who say he must have a one-track mind, then goes on to prove them completely right by talking about the new girl. Oi vey, Junpei...

After school we see Chihiro standing by the student council doors, so I decide to chat with her. Apparently she doesn't want to chat with us right now, so I guess we'll have to up our Student Council social link a little more. We have sort of been neglecting our position of power as of late... Anyway, enough worrying about that, let's head to the dorm! Since one of our requests from Elizabeth is to show her a triangular sword, we'll see if the gang knows something about that. Turns out Mitsuru does have a sort of triangular-sword, so yay! Let's head over to the mall, knock on the Velvet Room door and throw it in when Igor opens it! With luck it'll take one of his eyes out or something. For our efforts we get two Protection Sutras. Yay? While I'm there I decide to fuse Orpheus with Nekomata to get Omoikane. Try saying that three times fast... We then grab Orpheus out of the Compendium, since we're probably still going to need him for a while yet. So yeah, we now have an Electric Persona with a few more levels on it thanks to the Old Couple social link. Hooray. Now, let's see about getting into Tartarus, shall we?

Actually, let's hold off on that, since Junpei has gone AWOL... Uh, we'll be back next time, same Persona-place, same Persona-channel!

The social link stuff on Sundays will never lead to a rank up in this game, but they can in Persona 4. Too much stuff in the social links here happens in school for it to work, I think. Kenji is a prime example, as even though the social link itself could theoretically be undertaken outside school (He's meant to just be a friend; him being a classmate is unimportant), the entire social link revolves around the school and people in it.
