In which Kazushi disregards health and safety

Right, enough lovey-dovey stuff! Let's go beat up some Shadows and do school stuff!

Upon getting back to our room we find Junpei complimenting us on our skills in climbing the education ladder so quickly. At last, someone who sees our true prowess! Not much else happens, though, since we're too sick to do anything but sleep. Guess we pushed ourselves too far in Tartarus last time. The following morning we're greeted by Mitsuru, who asks us if we've acclimated to school yet. Since we seem to be fitting in well, creepy bike-thieves and Kendo rivals aside, we respond with yes. This results in Mitsuru stroking our ego and telling us that she might not be in the dorm lounge sometimes. This isn't news to me, since there's been at least one occasion that she hasn't been around before now. To make a long story short: No Mitsuru, no Tartarus visit. Simple enough. At lunchtime we immediately get jumped by Kazushi, who I think may have been waiting for us to he could strike. I'll give him this, he's committed to this "rival" thing. Once again he asks us to go jogging, unaware that we have no time left. We humour him, letting him play this all out again. Might as well indulge him by heading to Kendo class, though.

Once more Kenji sits there with the red ! above his head and once more we ignore him. I meant what I said when I said that I'd never speak with him again. Guy gives me the creeps. Instead we make good on our promise and head over to Kendo practice. Also, there seems to be a bit of de-sync between the sound of the kendo swords hitting and the actual sound. Apparently the speed of sound travels faster than light in this universe. All is going well until suddenly Kazushi collapses. I told him about that training, bro! We drag him over to the nurse's office, but thankfully our mad scientist nurse is not around. We also discover why Kazushi pushes himself so hard. Guy suffers from asthma, it turns out. Our fellow team members tell him not to push himself too hard, then asks us to take him home. Kazushi, but the moro- I mean, MANLY MAN that he is, brushes off the whole "asthma" thing and responds defensively when we ask if he's sure he's okay. But it turns out there's something else he's been hiding. You know the bad knee he had? Yeah, turns out that's been acting up again. Instead of doing the smart thing and resting, Kazushi's only been making it worse by training despite the pain. Poor, stupid Kazushi. Of course, he's got a big event next year, so he "can't afford" to put his training on hold, even for a few days. We agree to keep the whole knee thing a secret and get a rank up as a reward.

We choose to head on back to the dorm, only to once again find Yuko hanging around the lobby. This time she's a little more agreeable to our offer to walk home with her, even suggesting that we stop along somewhere on the way. We find ourselves in a neat little cafe, where Yuko pours out her heart about how tough it is being the team manager, how the guys on the team give her no respect. It also seems that Yuko's a little sensitive about her weight, but she quickly changes the subject, asking how we're enjoying the Kendo team. It's been pretty fun, Kazushi stupidity aside, so we say we're enjoying ourselves. She, of course, chooses this opportunity to compliment our fighting style. This also marks the beginning of a new social link, this time of the Strength arcana. Man, we're just gaining social links left and right! And yet still no social links for our party members that I've been able to see... Anyway, Yuko heads on home and we return to the dorm.

Apparently there was an internet cable that got torn apart, but that's going to be repaired tomorrow, meaning computer tiem! Junpei asks if we play online games, and since I do dabble in those from time to time, I reply with yes. We also get a reference to a previous Persona game when Junpei mentions "Innocent Sin Online" as a game to try out. After obtaining that, we decide to talk to Ikutsuki, who asks how our Tartarus explorations are going. Since we took out our first Shadow Boss a few days ago, I'd say they're going pretty good. Speaking of Tartarus, I figure it's high time we head back inside, especially since everyone is doing well. Besides, pdam got to the second level boss, so I need to play catch-up! So join me next time when I go and kick some Shadows' faces in!

No party member socal links here. Expect for the girls. That was one of the much better improvements Persona 4 gave and is the probable reason for the Female Protagonist for adding in those Social Links.
