Okay, we'll take Edward, Harley, Golbez, Kain and Rosa to the next floor. We follow the path we have taken before down to B9. This floor's tinted green and there are small tornadoes scattered around the floor. They don't do anything though.
We head into an indoor section then east into a hidden path. This takes us back outside to the Dragon Gloves. Same properties as the other Dragon equipment, but anyone who can equip them can also equip Giant's Gloves, which are still better. And we have 5 pairs of those.
We head back inside and head southwest. This is the right path. There's a small indoors section after that that has a hidden path leading to the Dragon Helm, but the main route stays outdoors. We follow it to a Save Point, then the next Crystal.
Rosa: The mistress of the Tower of Zot!
Kain: That woman, again!
Edward: The air pressure... it is changing rapidly!
Harley: The enemy can control the wind?
Golbez: (The wind archfiend!)
The Crystal shatters...
Rosa: The archfiend from the Tower of Zot!
Kain: Never imagined fighting you again.
Golbez: Barbariccia!
Barbariccia has two forms. When she has her hair tornado up, she counters everything, and with Tornado in her spell list, it's generally not worth it. Outside of that, we're free to go all out. Like the fight against her in FFIV, Kain can use Jump to knock her out of tornado form. She's also able to inflict Petrify, but that's not too big of a deal. After we've done enough damage...
Barbariccia: I... Yes... I am an archfiend!
She proceeds to cast Tornado on herself. After that, she's a one hit kill.
Barbariccia: I thank you... Now, I am myself once again...
Kain: I know. That's why I put an end to you.
Barbariccia: You... Kain... I knew it... Master... Golbez!
Golbez: Return to your eternal slumber, Barbariccia....
Barbariccia: I am overjoyed... to see you again...
And she's done for.
Rosa: So even she fell into the hands of the enemy...
Kain: Farewell, Barbariccia...
Harley: So that was the lone female archfiend, was it?
Edward: (Her radiant beauty was matched only by her strength and power.)
Golbez: (Barbariccia... forgive me.)
Our reward for this fight is the Gungir, a powerful spear that boosts Defence. Now lets rest at the Save Point.
That night, Edward plays his harp.
Edward: ...
Harley comes up to him.
Harley: My lord.
Edward: Harley?
Harley: I know it is late... but I was wondering if I might be able to hear a song tonight.
Edward: A song?
Harley: Yes.
Edward: I... was thinking of giving up the harp, actually.
Harley: What?
Edward: One cannot create music with a heart as disturbed as mine is.
Harley: Disturbed, my lord?
Edward: Harley, a bard is a man who spins together the thread of the past into a musical melody. But I, myself, have yet to come to terms with my past experiences. Not even now.
Harley: Well, what makes you think that matters at all?
Edward: Mmm?
Harley: People are soothed by your song, my lord... They learn from it, and they are emboldened by it. I am no exception to that.
Edward: Harley...
Harley: My lord... Do you still wish to deny your gift? Would you ignore all you have accomplished, even now?
Edward: No, that's not what...
Harley: You know well, of course, that I lost both of my parents in the last war.
Edward: ...
Harley: But I still found hope in my life to keep on living... thanks to your song.
Edward: Harley...
Edward: If the past had been any different from what it turned out to be... Then this moment, this instant in time would be irrevocably changed, I imagine, from what we are living right now. So please don't...
Edward: You are right...
