So, before we head out, let's check out Mist. The equipment is mostly stuff we found towards the end of Ceodore's Tale, although we do buy another Plate Mail for Ceodore. We also find a Blood Sword. It absorbs HP on hit, but tanks the wearer's stats. It's crap.
We check out the grave of Rydia's mother before we leave.
Ceodore: Here lies the motherly summoner who protected our village...
Hooded Man: (Thank you. I wouldn't be standing here today if it weren't for you.)
Ceodore: Huh?
We continue ahead to the Mist Cliff.
Ceodore: Wow. The mountain's collapsed into a sheer cliff. Are we really going to climb this thing?
Hooded Man: It's the only way to escape from those pursuing us.
Ceodore: B-but that's ridiculous! There isn't even a path for us to take...!
Hooded Man: So we'll blaze one.
Climbing the Mist Cliff is pretty easy. Find a tile above or below the platform you're on that looks like you can climb onto it, and you can climb to the next platform. The path is slightly mazey, but not hard to get through. We start of finding a Bone Wrist, which might be nice, but we have both characters with Giant's Gloves, which I find to be better.
Not much happens on the second screen, and on the third screen we can see the Damcyan Desert. We also find a Sleep Blade. Ceodore gets to use it.
The fourth screen is the Precipice. There's a Save Point here, and now we get to climb down the other side.
As we try to cross the fifth screen, Ceodore slips.
Ceodore: Whoooa!
Down he goes... Oops.
Hooded Man: Ceodore! You okay!?
Ceodore: Yeah, I think so!
Hooded Man: Hang on!
We're now solo as the Hooded Man for the next screen. He finds a Flame Shield, which is weaker than what he's currently got, but Ceodore should be able to use it.
We find Ceodore faceplanted on the rocks.
Hooded Man: Are you hurt?
Ceodore: No, I'm okay. Sorry about that...
Hooded Man: If you are sorry, then be more careful next time.
Ceodore: Yes, sir!
Well, that was pointless. Ceodore equips the Flame Shield. Same strength as the Mythril Shield he has, but resists Ice.
We climb down to the bottom of the cliff.
Ceodore: *huff huff*
Hooded Man: Looks like we're through.
Ceodore: I can't believe I made it down the side of that cliff in one piece.
Hooded Man: But you did. And you did it all by yourself.
To be fair, he was falling half of the way.
Ceodore: Are you kidding me? I never could have done it without you.
Hooded Man: Don't underestimate yourself. I only provided you with the opportunity. You're the one who saw it through to the end.
Ceodore: Yeah... You're right!
Hooded Man: !
Ceodore: What's that?
Kain's ship flies past to the north.
Kain: Just you wait, Cecil!
Hooded Man: The Red Wings!
Ceodore: No! You're wrong!
Hooded Man: What?
Ceodore: The Red Wings are the most elite airship fleet in the skies! The soldiers manning the airship up there are no Red Wings! They're just mindless drones!
Hooded Man: True enough.
Ceodore: But that means... they're still on our trail?
Hooded Man: No... they are heading in another direction. That's the way to Damcyan.
Ceodore: Wait... You don't think they'll attack Damcyan, do you?
Hooded Man: There's no time to lose. Let's head northeast to Kaipo first.
Ceodore: Got it!
Back on the airship...
Kain: ...
We flash back into Kluya's mirror chamber... place.
Kain: The me I see reflected in my mirror...
Dragoon: Hah! Long have I awaited this moment!
Well, it's just a dark self, right? We can just defend to kill it!
One problem: Cecil had healing magic to help him through it. Kain doesn't. We lose.
Kain: Ugh! How did you...!?
Dragoon: I have finally been released! Freedom is mine at last!
Back in the present... That... That's not the real Kain, is it? But then, where's the real one?
Kain: Fabul's Crystal is mine... That leaves just one more!
