Chapter 17: Slow and steady won't win this Race (Whereabouts Unknown)

Chapter 17:

After taking the area, we were ready to move on to the castle itself. Eliwood shared the same sentiments I had about the situation, but I'm getting used to it. We'll still make it through this.

Priscilla heard from a fortune teller that's been following our group that she'd meet an old acquaintance if she came along with us. I never thought that she was the superstitious type, but when she heard, she insisted on coming along with the rest of us.

The group got a bit jammed up near the beginning, as even with Hector and Kent combining their strength, there wasn't enough manpower to easily punch through. Serra even managed to get shot by an archer.

In the midst of the battle, a strange mercenary named Raven came over to us from the enemy side, claiming to have had a change of heart. He apparently worked for Castle Caelin and was forced to work for the other side due to his friend being held hostage. I noticed that Priscilla seemed to be a bit cheerful when he told us this news.

Due to the major attack, it took a long time for Kent and Matthew to finally get to the south western treasure chests. The enemies managed to take out Merlinus, and then moved on to pincer attacking my units in the castle. It's becoming harder and harder making Guy act as a meatshield. He tried for awhile, but eventually I had to have Hector turn around and take out some of the assailants. Meanwhile, Priscilla took Raven on her horse so that they could rescue his hostage friend.

It turns out that the friend was Lucius, yet another ally from Lyn and my last adventure. Raven and he had been traveling together, and he agreed to continue to do so. Shockingly, Lucius has no wounds or excuses to stop him from fighting alongside us, and so AT LONG LAST, our squad has more than 2 people that are able to fight. Sure he's a mage and thus kinda frail...but I can handle that.

Kent and Matthew began to meet up with the rest of the group, with Kent receiving yet another level up. Unfortunately, by the time we made it to the north east treasures, they'd long since been pilfered. I was especially bummed out because Lyn mentioned that there was a Knight's Crest in one, which Kent will want very soon to become stronger.

Bernard was a General, and thus a much larger threat than Bauker, but they both know how to quickly fall to a Wolf Beil. Hector is quickly reaching his maximum potential for now, so it looks like he'll be leaving some occasional kills to Lucius and Kent whenever possible.

Leila, Hector's spy, told us the situation, about Eliwood's father. She also was able to keep Marquess Hausan alive. We'll soon be making our way to Valor, an island that Lord Elbert should currently be staying. Hopefully Eliwood can hold on a little longer.

Those northern chests are hard to get; Hector went straight for the top and barely made it in time to stop the thief—he already had the door open. Kent could move faster but probably wouldn't survive the trip.

Merlinus retreated in my file too; I had Oswin and Marcus blocking him and sent Marcus to help rescue Caelin soldiers instead.

Ironically one of those soldiers ended up dying when the reinforcements got past Oswin. The soldiers AND Merlinus would've been fine if I'd just made up my mind...

Oh yeah, and congrats on Kent. He turned out awesome for me first time I played and ever since he's been strength-screwed by a LOT.
