Chapter 13x: Mountain warriors learn how to swim, with disastrous consequences. (The Peddler Merlinus)

Chapter 13x:

That night, we found ourselves camped on a little island in the middle of a river. Only in Elibe would you find such nice scenery. Eliwood and Hector were just chatting about how hot Lyn apperently is. For the record, she's definetly cool, but not exactly my type. It would be nice to see her again though.

Unfortunetly, I didn't have enough time to reminicse about my last adventure, due to yet more bandits attacking some screechy peddler fool. He was definetly lucky that we were around to protect him despite his loudness...he definetaly owes us.

Hector's training has resulted in him almost being as good of a tank as Oswin. With that on my side, we shouldn't have too many issues protecting this crazy ponytail man.

Earlier, I had Marcus take Lowen's Javelin, he's now been making himself useful taking out people who are a little out of the way without fear of counter attack. His job was to use that Javelin to help him warn a far off village of the attack before they get hit off guard.

A mage (MAGES? HERE?!) managed to hit Rebecca, so Hector was forced to take a break and tank in another area on the island. A Wolf Biel critical TO THE FACE helped to make everything better, as did a level up of both character and weapon rank.

Marcus made it to the village, and they were kind enough to hand us some cash. Just what the doctor ordered. As he tried to return back to the rest of the group, he was ambushed by some Brigands who had wanted to destroy the village. Despite the fact that they were in the woods and wielding axes, he managed to double 2 brigands (with 54% chance each), and critical a 3rd. I KNEW offering a sacrifice to the Random Number Goddess was a smart idea!

Fun Fact: Did you know that most Brigands are decent swimmers? I certainly didn't and neither did Hector, who was almost surprised by one during his meatshielding. Fortunetly he was able to take care of him without any problems.

Near the end of the battle, tragedy struck. I misscalculated, and Lowen was attacked one more time than I expected (again due to Brigands unexpected swimming skills), He didn't make it through. I find myself thinking about what could have been, how he could have been one of the greatest knights ever to grace Pharae. But now, we were forced to have his body sent back to his home. We'll definetly miss him...and his cooking.

Eliwood didn't have too much of an oppertunity to grieve, because soon, the peddler that we rescued, who we now know is named merlinus, was crying tears of joy for saving him, and laying his head in Eliwood's "bosom". He says that he can help us manage our items, so I guess it's a bit of a tradeoff.

Turns: 8/26 (excluding Chapter 11) (the goal is to win in 7 turns, but after the 7th turn, it switches to turn 8 before the battle is over, so technically it took 8 turns)

Oh, really? I guess I'll add a turn on mine then.

I'm curious, where did you keep your non-drafted units? On the island, or move them to a corner like I had to?

I didn't have a good vantage point of everything since I didn't give Matthew the torch, so I kept them all on the island. It got tough near the end, and as my blog says, I lost Lowen in the process.
