Continuing from the last post...

(The Maze of Shadows starts to collapse. An image that appears shows the surviving members of the team trying to escape.)

  • Ein: ........................ It's over... It's finally over...
  • Fia: The maze is falling apart!
  • Serene: Let's get outta here!!
  • Lina: There's nowhere to run!
  • Rose: (Are we gonna die? It doesn't seem fair. Is this the will of the gods?)
  • Ein: I wasn't able to protect Cierra, even after defeating Hector and saving Riviera. Don't start this now, Ein! You're better than that! Why does it have to end like this!?
  • Rose: (I just had a horrible thought... What if this was all part of the gods' plan?) I'd say something here, but I've told myself that I wouldn't mock that any more. (What if we're just puppets in their show? Do we really have any control over our future?) Do we even care? (Ein is shown running out of the Maze of Shadows, then he is teleported to Ursula's domain.)
  • Ein: Where am I? What happened to us?
  • Ursula: Ein... Thank you for fulfilling your promise... (An image shows Ursula standing before Ein.) Hector and Seth have vanished... There is no one left to actuate the Retribution. Riviera is saved.
  • Ein: Really?
  • Ursula: It was a long journey. Only you could have accomplished such feats.
  • Ein: ........................ But... I lost one of my friends...
  • Ursula: Cierra... All hope is not lost.
  • Ein: Huh? (Cierra appears beside Ursula.) Cierra!
  • Cierra: Ein... Why am I...?
  • Ursula: I called her soul back from death. This is my final gift to you and to Riviera. I have used the last of my power.
  • Ein: Ursula...
  • Ursula: Since my opposite, Seth, has disappeared, I shall soon follow.
  • Ein: But... But who will protect Riviera? Look in a mirror, buddy.
  • Ursula: Those who live there... Those who have a future. I believe in them... and you... (Cierra disappears.) Farewell, savior of Riviera. You have my blessing, o honorable angel... (Ursula fades away. We then cut to the team outside of Elendia.)
  • Ein: ......? Fia! Lina! Serene! Cierra! Rose! Whew... we're safe.
  • Fia: ... Huh? I'm alive...
  • Serene: Where are we...?
  • Lina: This is Elendia!
  • Cierra: So... We made it back alive.
  • Rose: (Thank goodness!)
  • Fia: It must have been Ursula's blessing.
  • Serene: You're probably right.
  • Lina: Riviera's peaceful now!
  • Ein: Yeah... No more Seth... No more judgment... Riviera's a free land, at last!

With that, the credits begin to roll, showing the Elendians. They're all in their usual locations, and every last one of them has something to say about what has happened.

  • Ladie: Master Ein! You're safe! You are a true hero.
  • Graham: Elendia exists today thanks to you. Thank you, Ein, from the bottom of my heart.
  • Gill: You're our hero!
  • Molan: Um... Thanks, mister.
  • Mylene: I'm glad to know we have a tomorrow.
  • Kyle: We need not fear demons anymore!
  • Rebecca: The winds have calmed... We owe it all to you, Ein.
  • Reiche: It all started when you were picked up off the road... I'm so glad we have a happy ending!
  • Mursya: The sun's so nice and warm, nya. Purr... I hope this lasts forever.
  • NoNo: Oh, Ein <3 Beating all those demons... you're so awesome!
  • Meute: Umm... Thank you, Ein.
  • LuLu: I guess you're not so bad, after all. I may just have to raise my opinion of you... a little.
  • Ritz: So, Elendia was saved. I was in the mine, cheering you on.
  • Claude: Knowledge is treasure only after action... Now, tell me everything you saw on your quest.
  • Soala: With the demons gone, I can now focus on my experiments.
  • NaNa: Now I can go outside to find ingredients (star symbol)
  • Soala: In that case, go fetch me three dried bats! You might have to kill a few hundred bats to get them. Don't worry; that's normal.
  • NaNa: I shouldn't have said anything... (sweatdrop)
  • Chappi: I hope you found my weapons useful. If you need anything, I'll make it!

Now, we join Ein as he returns to Lina and Fia's home.

  • CoCo: Welcome home, Ein! (An image appears showing the girls cooking, presumably for the victory party.)
  • Serene: You're late!
  • Cierra: Serene, can you pass me the seasoning?
  • Serene: Okay. This one?
  • Fia: This is it: a cake of Elendia's best fruits.
  • Lina: Yummy! It looks so good... ...Just one bite!
  • Fia: Oh no, you don't! Ein gets the first bite... That is my decision.
  • Lina: Why?
  • Fia: W-Well... Because...
  • Lina: Because why?
  • Fia: Uh... No reason.
  • Cierra: Oh wow, the cake's already done? I should probably finish my paella, then. I need more heat. Fire!!
  • Serene: Cierra! The fire... The fire's burning! And this is why you don't use combat-grade spells to make dinner.
  • Cierra: Oops... Now what? How'd the flood spell go...?
  • Lina: It's going to ruin our house!
  • Cierra: Oh dear...
  • Serene: Stop talking until we put the fire out... The whole house is going to burn down!
  • Rose: (It's already been a whole month... It all seems so surreal. ...I can't believe we made it through alive.)
  • Ein: I know what you mean.
  • Rose: (Still... My voice still hasn't returned!)
  • Ein: ............
  • Rose: (So... What are your plans? You gonna head back to Asgard, or...?)
  • Ein: Me? Well...

Thanks to Ein and his friends, the Accursed were defeated and Riviera was saved.

It is said that Ein never returned to Asgard, but instead lived out his days in the Promised Land with the Sprites...

Here's where we get the character-specific ending. So, since we went for Cierra's, here you go!

Epilogue ~At the Nelde Ruins

  • Cierra: (Standing near a purple herb) I've never seen this herb before... I bet I could use it to develop new spells. Ein, I found something incredible! (Ein walks on to the screen.)
  • Ein: An herb?
  • Cierra: ...With this, magic would advance 10 years.
  • Ein: Really?
  • Cierra: I just need to test it...
  • Ein: Huh? (Cierra casts something on the herb. Unsurprisingly, it blows up in her face.) *cough* So... Did it work? *cough*
  • Cierra: Huh!? I don't know what the problem is... (An image appears, showing Ein and Cierra examining an herb.)
  • Cierra (voice only): Now it's your turn, Ein.

Ein remained in Riviera and, along with Cierra, searched the Nelds Ruins for hidden knowledge.

All the spells used today in modern Riviera stem from magic those two discovered...

As recorded in the books... (Just so you know, I'm not entirely sure this is transcribed correctly. It's just that the ending auto-scrolls, this bit isn't in the GBA version, and the script I was using to transcribe the auto-scrolling bits is for the GBA version.)

Sadly, that's it for the Cierra ending. Anyway, there's one more bit to cover.

For this last bit, an image of a book appears in the background.

Thus ends my account of the intertwining histories of Asgard and Riviera.

I saw, heard, and experienced the events first-hand...

Fate is not something forced onto you, nor is it something one yields to.

Fate is something to be carved with one's own hands...

If you believe in yourself, you will break free from all that binds you...

I hope to pass this message on to as many people as I can...

This is dedicated to a certain angel, who was my dearest friend.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, was Riviera: The Promised Land. I hope you enjoyed this liveblog/Let's Play/whatever. I'll post my final thoughts on the game soon. It just seems like the thing to do, really.
