Prologue: Welcomes and information
Hello, all who are currently reading this! This is the opening page of what will be the storage place for all my liveblogs of the Fire Emblem series of games. In here, I will be updating chapter by chapter as I play through the games and hopefully make those updates as fun to read as possible!
The next page will be a Table of Contents, since this will eventually get fairly large, and it will make categorizing which games are being covered in which liveblog installments much easier.

FYI, there's a person next chapter you can recruit, but it's pretty hard and mostly for bragging rights since you get another much easier opportunity later.
Thought you should know you so you don't feel you have to retry if they leave.

A small word about the character you recruited last chapter: his name's not actually "Ray," it's supposed to be "Lleu," pronounced "lay," which is a reference to Celtic Mythology. Lleu was the Welsh name of the Celtic culture-hero also known in Ireland as, you guessed it, Lugh! By the same token, "Narshen" is supposed to be "Nacien," which is an Arthurian reference.

I thought something was odd, since you always called him Nacien, but I'd read Narshen a couple of times before, so I figured it was just a translation based on preference. I've got to say though, while Nacien is more proper due to the reference (although considering in mythology Nacien is a holy hermit, I find the comparison... odd), Narshen sounds more fitting to me, since it sounds more rough and grinding to say, while Nacien is smoother.
I was also wondering why Ray's name was so much simpler looking than Lugh's. I would not have expected them to be the same reference, but in different languages, though. The fact that they're twins is a pretty awesome mythological pun.

Grero isn't the fruity bandit either. They are still yet to come. You will notice them when you see them.
As for Nacien, I always assumed that his name was meant to be ironic, since he is more or less the opposite of his Arthurian counterpart.
As for Lleu, my guess is that they can't write the Welsh in Japanese, so they went with "Lay/Ray", the closest they could get. Lucky for us, the Romanized name "Lleu" shows up in some of the official material, or we would have probably completely missed this one.

Oh I know Grero wasn't the fruity bandit (there was only one of him, for one thing), but he acted wacky enough with his odd speech patterns that I figured he earned an honorable mention.

Fuck the Irish and fuck the Welsh, Ray is way easier to remember than Lay.
