Written on this day, the 27th of Audulis, 437

In the Divine Presence of Her Lady Iomedae

I do not have very much to report yet; it has only been three days since I have left the Church to go investigate the island.

I have been attempting to gather information so that I can ascertain the situation before I arrive on the island. Unfortunately, many of the native inhabitants of the island that are travelling with me are refusing to talk, even to share the location of their villages.

Many of the other travellers have been willing to talk, thankfully. Oftentimes, it seems that once I reveal that I am a Paladin, people open their mouths and start talking very fast. For some reason, this amuses me. I do not know why.

I have ascertained the following for certain-

The island is inhabited primarily by Elves and Humans. They do not usually intermingle, as the Humans do not understand how to live in harmony with nature like the Elves do, but they do occasionally mingle and talk.

The inhabitants are prone to secrecy, as I myself, and several other travellers have noted. They are willing to share information, but only for information in turn. I did not think it would be appropriate for me to share any of our Order’s information without a guarantee of being given the information I require.

As such, I determined on a course of action; I will need to gain the trust of the inhabitants of the island before I can attempt to locate Him.

To this end, I will travel to the nearest settlement once we approach the island, and attempt to gain their trust. I am not sure what this will require, however, so my reports may be infrequent.

Her Lady’s Servant,

Paladin Seren

I'm glad to see there's another one of these.

This one seems very, hmm, condensed? A lot more seems to happen in it than in the others. I'd like to hear more about this Heriuste guy.
