* ArcFatigue:
** The fact that no one realizes that Colossus has been under the control of the Chronicler on Mikhail Rasputin's grates on fans both here and in other stories that feature Colossus. This storyline started in #23 and didn't end until #46.
** The constantly going after Beast. Over 40 issues in this too still isn't resolved. It doesn't end until the series finale.
* BrokenBase: After Cyclops finally got to experience CharacterRerailment for ''ComicBook/DawnOfX'', many Beast fans were left hoping that Hank would also get to be restored to his pre-Schism characterization. ''X-Force'' did the opposite and [[TookALevelInJerkass leaned in even further on Beast becoming an asshole]]. Naturally, this is a split between those who find his FallenHero status interesting, those who view it as another big disservice to the character and just want Beast to be heroic again, and a third camp who just hate Beast [[CatharsisFactor and like that the chickens are coming home to roost]].
* CatharsisFactor: After ten plus years of Beast being an indignant arrogant InsufferableGenius, many fans are happy to see him checked on his bullshit by someone like Wolverine.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Despite whether or not fans liked the first issue or not, many were very happy about the new characterization for Black Tom Cassidy.
* HoYay: Issue #18 opens with Black Tom talking in his sleep about Cain tickling him with his giant, sausage fingers.
* LikeYouWouldReallyDoIt: [[spoiler:The first issue ends with the ''apparent'' assassination of Charles Xavier/X and the destruction of Cerebro, meaning fans were not convinced this would stick.]]
* UnexpectedCharacter: Jean Grey and Quentin Quire, neither of whom has been associated with X-Force before.
* TheWoobie:
** President Cocom. [[spoiler:His scientists develop plant tech, only for Krakoa to emerge, which ''grows'' plant tech. His son opposes him when he tries to be diplomatic about it, then said son fakes his own "kidnapping" and after his rescue, is rendered braindead. ''Then'' his son becomes a plant person whose infection overtakes the population. In the end Cocom himself dies alone in his office, his citizens having become plant people.]]
** Piotr. He’s becoming more and more a puppet of his brother via the Chronicler progressively doing things he’d never do if under his own control, including killing his girlfriend and betraying his FamilyOfChoice by swaying Quiet Council votes against Krakoa’s best interests.
