* AccidentalAesop: The one for "Smashed" could be "Don't steal your friend's food." Ogi's so-called friends think nothing of breaking into his house to get the honey after they haven't heard from him for days, rather than worry about if something happened to him. When they find his remains splattered on the wall, they all think nothing of dividing his honey, rather than calling the authorities about what happened.
* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: In "Smashed", it's ultimately unknown why the tribe gave Ogi, the man they rescued, a jar of honey. The tribe knew that eating the honey would peg the consumer as a target for the sap, hence their warning of "eat but don't get caught". Yet you don't know if you will get caught or not; it's a fifty-fifty chance even if you are eating quietly. They could have been abiding by SacredHospitality after keeping him from dehydrating or preparing a HumanSacrifice for the plant. After all, Ogi mentioned that the tribe worships the plant as well, and had people die while retrieving the job. Perhaps the tribe pragmatically figured that the plant cannot swat everyone eating the honey and compelled it to go after people abroad.
** In "Blood-sucking Darkness", was Kazuya's blood rain his final gift to Nami so that she would recover from her eating disorder, or was it his vindictive way of punishing her for accidentally getting him killed?
* SugarWiki/AwesomeMoments: Asano is a walking moment of this in "Earthbound". Despite having PTSD and trauma, she still volunteers with a group to try and unbind the people trapped in one place. She never gives up on reasoning with them, to find a cause for their condition.
* CompleteMonster ("I Don't Want to Be a Ghost"): [[ImAHumanitarian Misaki]] is a seemingly ordinary and sweet young woman who, having been breastfed by the ghost of her mother as an infant, developed the [[ISeeDeadPeople ability to perceive ghosts]]--and a ravenous appetite for their substance. [[SoulEating Surviving by devouring dozens of spirits]], Misaki seduces Shigeru, a man surrounded by ghosts, remorselessly driving his pregnant wife Yuina to [[DrivenToSuicide madness and death]]. Misaki savagely gluts on the souls of both Yuina and her [[EatsBabies unborn baby]] before stalking Shigeru relentlessly to feed off his spirits. Eventually driving Shigeru into poverty and illness, Misaki patiently stands by his bedside, hungrily waiting for him to expire so she can feast on his ghost.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: A few in "Earthbound":
** Many people come together as volunteers in "Earthbound" to help those afflicted by the same condition. Asano is one of them, offering a listening ear as well as food and water.
** Asano believes that if [[spoiler:someone confesses their crime that left them cursed]] and lets go of their guilt, they ''may'' be able to be saved. She doesn't give up on Minoru, who [[spoiler:admits he killed his dog in a fit of spite and regrets it forever]].
* MoralEventHorizon:
** [[spoiler:Asano's coworker]] in "Earthbound" is revealed to have crossed this a long time ago. [[spoiler:He's a serial rapist and killer, with Asano being one of his victims who survived. In the present, he denies having been in the apartment before]].
** While none of Ogi's friends win merits for loyalty or compassion, [[spoiler:Kaneda crosses it when we learn that he used acquaintances as guinea pigs to see who gets a "pancake murder". Even his addicted remaining two friends look horrified about it. Once all his friends die, he thinks the best solution is to go to the source...not to find answers but to get more honey, which is revealed to be a giant plant's sap. The plant leaves him for last, swatting him on the last panel for cutting directly into the trunk]].
* NauseaFuel:
** "Greased"...Dear god, "Greased". Pimples have never been more disgusting.
** "Blood Sucking Darkness" has some when we learn how Nami has been kept alive.
