* CoveredUp:
** "Elvira" was first released in 1966 by its writer, Dallas Frazier and covered in 1969 by Kenny Rogers and The First Edition. Rodney Crowell also released a version before the Oaks covered it.
** They also covered up Crowell's "Leaving Louisiana in the Broad Daylight" about two years prior, which Emmylou Harris also covered on her Quarter Moon In a Ten Cent Town album.
** "Thank God for Kids" was written and originally cut by Eddy Raven which was released as a B-Side in 1976, but appeared on the Thank God For Kids album released after the Oak Ridge Boys had the hit with it.
** "Dream On" was originally recorded by the Righteous Brothers.
** They were the first artists to record "Callin' Baton Rouge". It was covered by the New Grass Revival before some guy named Music/GarthBrooks had a huge hit with it in 1994.
** "I Wish You Could Have Turned My Head (And Left My Heart Alone)" was first released by its writer, Sonny Throckmorton.
** Their ''It's Only Natural'' album (a Cracker Barrel exclusive) includes a cover of "Louisiana Red Dirt Highway", a song that Golden released during his solo career in the early 90s.
** Two examples off their 1991 album ''Unstoppable'' that were later hits for other artists: "Heaven Bound (I'm Ready)" was later a single for Music/{{Shenandoah}} in 1995, and "Change My Mind" for John Berry in 1996.
* EpicRiff: Richard Sterban's bass vocal in "Elvira" ("Giddyup, ba oom papa oom papa mow mow") is one of the most remembered riffs in country music.
* SugarWiki/HeartwarmingMoments: The [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=krU9sLSAxi0 music video]] for "No Matter How High", where all four Oaks reunite with their mothers.
* SignatureSong: "Elvira", hands down.
