* AlternativeCharacterInterpretation: Dwight's confrontation with Dees implies that he views Dees as a kindred spirit of sorts due to his making a living off of the misery of others. While it's implicitly suggested that Dwight hates being a vampire, this might suggest that he takes some sadistic pleasure from his outings. Or it could suggest that he sees a similarity in the way they both live, and doesn't wish to kill him due to viewing him as a part of himself.
* CultClassic: Not as well-known as many Creator/StephenKing adaptations, but it definitely has its fanbase.
* CreepyAwesome: Dwight. This quote about sums it up:
-->'''Dwight:''' I suppose it was inevitable. You've been looking for me all your life. In the morgues, in the graveyards, in the faces of the dead and dying. Your whole existence has been a search for me. Well, here I am, my friend. Am I not all that you had hoped for? Am I not all that you thought I would be?
* JerkassWoobie: "Dwight", the eponymous Night Flier. He's a vampire who brutally murders people for their blood and seems to enjoy it to some extent, but he has no real choice in the matter, and it's implied that he despises the monster that he's become and mourns his lost humanity.
* MagnificentBastard: "[[ClassicalMovieVampire Dwight Renfield]]" is the [[OurVampiresAreDifferent vampire]] behind the Night Flier murders. Flying from airport to airport draining his prey of blood, Dwight catches the attention of the arrogant Inside View tabloid reporter Richard Dees, attempting to force him off his trail before turning his focus to the elderly Sarche couple, appearing to Ellen Sarche as an old friend before killing her husband and claiming her life peacefully. Even as Dees follows him to the airport where he had just slaughtered everyone inside, he gives him a final warning to leave him alone, seeing him as a "brother in blood", [[spoiler:sending him to his own personal Hell and framing him for his crimes when he ignores his warning, leading to him being shot by the cops, and finally corrupting Dees' rival to take his place as the top Inside View reporter]]. Despite all his vicious slayings and bestial visage, Dwight remains charismatic to the very end while despising the monster he is forced to be.
