* {{Adorkable}}: Jasper Dale, who was so shy he sometimes lived outside of town entirely, but also a kind and very sweet inventor/photographer.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: Gus Pike. He was only meant to be on for two episodes, but stayed for the entire series. He was even brought BackFromTheDead.
%%* FirstInstallmentWins
* OneSceneWonder: One could argue this for Christopher Lloyd's one-time guest performance as Alastair Dimple in the episode "Another Point of View" in the sense that he won a Primetime Emmy in the category of "Outstanding LEAD Actor in a Drama Series" over such veteran performers like Sam Waterston in IllFlyAway and Creator/ScottBakula in ''Series/QuantumLeap''. Somewhat justified in that the Emmys had omitted the category of "Outstanding Guest Actor" that year.
* TheScrappy: Davy Keith started as a tolerable CousinOliver, but reached scrappy levels when he took the focal point away from the other main characters.
* SugarWiki/SheReallyCanAct: Patricia Hamilton has always done a great job as Rachel, but her performance in "Home is Where the Heart is", portraying a debilitated Rachel who is unable to speak was outstanding.
* TearJerker: Gus to his newfound mother about his father: "He ruined your life. And mine too."
* YouLookFamiliar: Several instances throughout Sullivan's ''Avonlea'' universe: Mag Ruffman, Cedric Smith, and Jackie Burroughs all had small roles in the mini-series before playing the King siblings. Creator/RosemaryDunsmore had a large role, as Katherine Brooke, in the sequel, before getting a guest role as Aunt Abigail. James O'Reagan also had a small scene in the sequel, before appearing as Abner Jeffries a number of times.
