* SugarWiki/FunnyMoments: LOTS.
** Jessie and James's cheesy ValleyGirl disguises, complete with Jessie's TotallyRadical dialogue (lampshaded by Ash) and James's [[LarynxDissonance cheesy falsetto voice]] that eventually results in a "drop the hammer" moment on him.
** Ash's excited reaction when the Gentleman asks if anyone else wants to challenge his Raticate.
** James's ImagineSpot when he thinks all the Pokémon they will be stealing will be just for him and Jessie.
** The Magikarp Salesman tricking James into buying a Magikarp, and James's ImagineSpot and excited voice and laugh.
** Ash, Pikachu, Misty and Brock [[BigEater eating extremely fast]] at the buffet at the beginning of the second act.
** Brock [[LovableSexManiac lusting over]] the Gentleman's beautiful female partner ([[OnceAnEpisode of course]]).
** Jessie and Meowth's reactions to James buying the Magikarp, especially Jessie beating up James among learning he used both their salaries to pay for the Magikarp. We even saw blood and a tooth flying from the HitFlash!
** James's depression after finding out he was tricked.
** Jessie [[WeaponsThatSuck vacuuming up trainers' Pokéballs]] while saying "Suck them up! Suck them up! Suck them ALL up!"
** The DirtyCoward Captain of the St. Anne who claims the ship is "unsinkable" and that he is "[[BlatantLies just testing out one of the lifeboats]]."
* GeniusBonus: The Captain having an Irish accent may seem like more dub weirdness, but bear in mind that the Titanic, which the St. Anne is specifically compared with in-episode, was made in Belfast….
* HarsherInHindsight: The St. Anne's captain leaving the ship first becomes less humorous when one remembers the Costa Concordia disaster, In which the ship's captain left prematurely before proper evacuation.
* TearJerker: Ash's flashbacks to all the good times he had with Butterfree and the sadness he shows when he begs the Gentleman to trade him back can really hit hard for viewers who've given away something precious, but regretted it later.
* TheyWastedAPerfectlyGoodPlot: While the episode managed to get its point across about how you shouldn't trade Pokemon without really meaning it, some fans couldn't help but wish that Ash was shown palling around and properly battling with Raticate for a bit before returning it.
