* AdaptationDisplacement: It's a very close remake of the 1939 film ''Frontier Marshal'', starring Creator/RandolphScott and Cesar Romero, with some scenes mirrored almost shot-for-shot. Which itself was a remake of a 1934 film starring George O'Brien. All three films are based on Stuart N. Lake's popular, but [[VeryLooselyBasedOnATrueStory historically dubious]], biography ''Wyatt Earp: Frontier Marshal''.
* AlternateCharacterInterpretation: Pa Clanton's attempt to shoot Wyatt after the gunfight: one last attempt at vengeance or SuicideByCop?
* AwardSnub: The film was completely ignored at the UsefulNotes/{{Academy Award}}s.
* EnsembleDarkhorse: The titular Clementine is a completely fictional character created specifically for the film, contrasting the main cast who are all fictionalized versions of actual historical figures. And yet, she's still a fan favorite for being a SmallRoleBigImpact type and Category/CathyDowns' memorable performance, being kind, fair and respectable, and [[spoiler: eventually deciding to stay in Tombstone as the new schoolmarm]], so she pretty much represents the new civilized Tombstone.
* HilariousInHindsight: A sexy, glamourous character named . . . [[MisterMuffykins Chihuahua]]. (For the record: The dog breed was known in America at the time the film was made, but only really took off in popularity in the 1960s.) Also a GeniusBonus for those who know Chihuahua is also the name of a state in Mexico.
* JerkassWoobie: Chihuahua. A ClingyJealousGirl towards Clementine, whom she sees as a threat to her relationship with Doc, but she doesn't deserve the mistreatment she receives from everyone in Tombstone. She's abused constantly for being half Apache.
* MemeticMutation: The iconic scenes during Wyatt and Clementine's time in the church, especially the dance scenes.
* SignatureScene: Wyatt and Clementine dancing at the church raising, symbolizing the arrival of civilization to the Wild West.
